Do you remember when work used to be more fun?

M nthSo maybe you need to think all the way back to kindergarden to remember a time when doing something worth doing also meant a ton of laughing, playing and fun. But we don’t think it should be that way. In fact, we say that great work only gets done when we are willing to let loose, throw off the ‘serious face’ and have some more fun.

And we are not the only ones who think so. Studies show that people are more productive when they are having fun. Our brains make new connections, we put aside our barriers and we start focusing on what might be rather than what can’t happen.

So, we at SeriouslyCreative- the purveyors of silliness in pursuit of breakthrough ideas - invite you to throw off your “i’m to smart to laugh” look and get a little silly this month. And we think you should invite others to do so to.

For this purpose we have created the Seriously Creative Mustache Month and dedicate April as the month of silliness, foolishness and corporate playfulness.

Why Mustaches? Well why not?! There was a time where dapper men (and even some women) would proudly wear their facial hair - handlebar, french, fu manchu: they even had names. Heck, even Super Mario had one! We invite you to have one to.

Now, we’re not saying you need to grow one (but if that’s what’s on your mind - go for it!) - just show one.

How can you support our cause?The easiest way is to make a month long commitment to a “finger-stashe.” (Ah what?) Take a sharpie, draw a mustache on the inside of your index finger and then put your finger under your nose to showcase your new mustache.

The only think left is to show it off on our Facebook site or to tweet it to us @IdeaRocket with the hash tag #SCMustacheMonth.

In fact, our team has already gotten an early start.

There are so many styles to choose from.Go crazy, go wild - from a thin Dali styled mustache to the curly tip ones. In fact, feel free to try a new style every day.

Your co-workers may need a little encouragement to get into the mood. Why not post a sign like this in a meeting room, the hallway or the lunch area? After all, friends share silliness - and mustaches too!
