overall situation of industry in each country. This included current strength and how they are enhancing

business opportunities to further create the economic growth of the AEC. The seminar was well attended

On the 14th of May 2015, an important signing cere-

mony took place between Dr. Aung Thein, Vice Chairman

of Myanmar Industries Association and Mr. M. Gandhi,

Managing Director of ASEAN Business UBM Asia. The

purpose was to establish understanding and cooperation

regarding the co-organization of INTERMACH & SUBCON

Myanmar in 24-26 September 2015, with the additional

goal of creating a stronger industrial network between the

two countries. The signing further enhanced the ASEAN

manufacturing industry and created more sustainable

development. The ceremony was witnessed by honorary

representative associations from six ASEAN countries.

Mr. Mitsui @ Okuma: หวใจสาคญทประเทศไทยควรพฒนาอยางยงนนคอการสรางระบบการผลตพลงงานไฟฟาแรงดนสงดวยตวเอง เพอใหไทยสามารถกาวขนมาอยในฐานะประเทศหลกของกลมประชาคมเศรษฐกจอาเซยนไดอยางเตมภาคภม”

Mr. Mori @ Sodick: “อตสาหกรรมการผลตเครองมอแพทยควรไดรบการสนบสนนมากขนจากภาครฐดวยปจจยตางๆ เมอผลตภณฑทางการแพทยไดรบการพฒนาจนมตนทนตาลง กจะชวยใหประชาชนสามารถดแลตนเองไดในระดบหนง โดยไมตองไปสถานพยาบาลซงจะมคาใชจายสงกวา และทายทสดกจะนามาสคณภาพชวตทสงขน”

The world-class convention included leading machine manufacturers from Japan - Mr. Ryoma Oshima, General

Mori, Director Sale Division, Sodick (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and Mr.Nobuhito Todama, President of Toyoda Machinery S.E.

Asia Co., Ltd., presented the perspective for the automotive industry- the most important industry for Thailand at pres-

ent. The companies also introduced developmental trends which are crucial for Thai entrepreneurs to take advantage

of competition which should lead to future success and become the lead industry of the future.

Q1 : What is the direction of the automotive industry in the future? And how can entrepreneurs prepares themselves to adjust to changes?

Mr. Oshima @ Mazak: “Companies in Japan develop and design manufacturing technology to be compatible with

Thai style. As you can see some models and brands have been invented and manufactured for Thailand only. This

confirms that Japan will continue its business in Thailand.”

Mr. Mitsui @ Okuma: “We believe that Thailand will be able to achieve industrial leadership which will create more

value to their products. I am strongly confident in Thailand’s potential to achieve further success.”

Mr. Mori @ Sodick: “Entrepreneurs in the automotive industry have to adjust and consider the possibility to relocate

their manufacturing base and invest in other countries which have lower labor costs than Thailand. They can then also

take full advantage of the AEC.”

Mr. Todama @ Toyoda: “The Automotive export industry will continue to grow constantly in the ASEAN community.

In the meantime, trading between countries in the AEC will increase with the ability for each country to be economically

independent.”

There are also a growing number of Japanese SMEs who are expanding their manufacturing base in Thailand. These factors will help Thai entrepreneurs increase their performance and capability. In the meantime, it is important that entrepreneurs understand the requirements of global buyers so they can switch to another field of manufacturing such as aircraft, medical equipment. At SUBCON Thailand 2015, you will be able to inspect firsthand the skills and precision manufacturing ability of Japanese SMEs. All these entrepreneurs would like to build business relationships and exchange knowledge with Thai entrepreneurs. high pressure power. This will enable Thailand to become the main country in the AEC.”

Mr. Mori @ Sodick: “The Medical equipment manufacturing industry should receive more support from government.

Once the medical equipment industry is fully developed, costs will be much lower. The result will be that more people

will be able to afford medical treatment without having to go to hospital. This will save them money and lead to a better

quality of life.”

Mr. Todama @ Toyoda: “Parts for the aviation industry are made from materials which are difficult to form and

may require special methods for turning. That’s why it is important that entrepreneurs constantly keep developing.”

new technology in metal sheet manufacturing industry. We have gathered

a lot of new customers. This year we brought laser cutter - Bysprint: 3015

fiber 3KW (as a demonstration sample in our booth) with unique “ByTrans

Extended” - the option which enable constant and precise production

process without gas used in cutting procedure. The option also provides

high speed cutting which helps enhance capacity.

“We attend SUBCON Thailand under the Thai Subcontracting Promotion

Association Pavilion. Our company manufactures and sells plastic and

rubber bush for the automotive, electric and medical device industry. Every

year, most of buyers are foreigners that interested in Thai made products.

So far this year, we have received a very good response from various
