WELCOME On behalf of SHUKALB and SHUKOS, we are pleased to invite you to join us at our 4th

Balkans Joint Conference and Exhibition to be held in Tirana, Albania, on 2-4 November

2016, at Expo City Albania. The Conference Theme “Water and Jobs” brings much

needed attention to the multiple challenges that we face in the water sector as we work to

replace a retiring workforce, while at the same working to communicate the career

opportunities that exist in the water sector, but that are not well understood by the younger

generations in the Western Balkans.

The Balkans Joint Conference and Exhibition has truly established itself as a major

knowledge sharing and networking event in the Western Balkans water sector. With an

audience of over 450 participants from the Greater Balkan Region, the Conference offers a

platform where water professionals, policymakers, and business professionals from the

sector gather and discuss issues of concern, exchange information, and share experiences

in an effort to help the further development of the water supply and wastewater sector in the

Greater Balkan Region.

As has been the structure of the Conference, the Organizing Committee has planned

another large, parallel Equipment, Technology and Services Exhibition with participation

from a broad array of private sector companies who are active in the water sector of the

Balkan Region. To accommodate and provide the highest quality exposition space for our

private sector participants, the Organizing Committee has selected Expo City Albania as the

new venue for the Conference and Exhibition, which will allow for a larger and better

integrated event.

We look forward to welcoming you to our Joint Conference and to sharing our common

interest for a better water environment for the Greater Balkans.

THE CONFERENCE

The Conference Program will allow for a broad and multi-dimensional discussion of topics,

covering from policy to technical, as well as management issues of the water sector. The

conference will provide a platform for discussion, where participants can share their

knowledge and experience in the dealing with water sector issues, and in the same time it

will create networking opportunities among professionals of the water sector in the Balkan

Region.

Individuals wishing to make a podium presentation at the Conference are invited to submit

an abstract that relates to one of the main conference topics listed below. The abstracts will

be evaluated by the Technical Program Committee. The Call for Abstracts is open until

09 September.

TECHNICAL EXHIBITION

Utilities cannot deliver high quality water supply and sewerage services without the proper

equipment, technologies, software and chemicals provided by private companies that are

engaged in the water sector. Moreover, our past events have taught us that participation of

exhibitor companies greatly enriches the experience of Conference attendees through

presenting to them the latest products and services, and by taking part on the Conference

program and discussions.

On their side, exhibitors have the opportunity to directly attract potential customers. As such,

the event welcomes companies from around the world to show their products and services,

and join the discussion on current issues in the water supply and sewerage sector.

Exhibitor Registration Deadline

The deadline for purchasing an exhibit space is 10 October 2016. Please note that space

preferences will be confirmed on a first come, first served basis. Once an exhibit space has

been confirmed, an exhibitor must make payment within 10 days of exhibit space

confirmation to guarantee space assignment at the Exhibition. Bank transfer information is

provided inside the Exhibition Registration Form.

EXHIBITION LAYOUT AND TECHNICAL DETAILS

The Exhibition Area is organized in booths of 6m² and 8m². You can always download the

most updated Layout by visiting the Conference Webpage www.BalkansJointConference.org

Furnished Exhibit Space

Exhibit spaces will be furnished with side dividers and back panel for displaying signage or

displays that can be adhered to the panel. A printed company name sign and logo will be

provided along with a table, two chairs and a garbage bin. Also, normal electrical power

(200-220 V) for lighting level service will be in place.

Set-up and Removal of Exhibit Displays

All exhibitors are asked to set up their displays during the late morning of the first day of the

Exhibition, 2 November, starting no earlier than 11:00 am, and to be completed with display

set up by 17:00 pm. All exhibitor companies are asked to remove their displays by no later

than 4:30 pm on the last day of the Exhibition on 4 November 2016.

Names and Logo

Please make sure to send along with the Exhibition Registration Form the logo of your

company in AI, EPS or PDF format. The company logo will be displayed on the company’s

booth and website of the Conference and Exhibition.

Conference Languages

The official languages of the Conference are Albanian English and Serbo-Croatian.

Simultaneous translation will be provided.

Conference Venue

The Conference and Exhibition will take place in Tirana, Albania, at Expo City Albania.

The venue is located on the Tirana –Durres highway, km 8, close to City Park.

Hotel Accommodation

For conference and exhibition participants SHUKALB & SHUKOS have arranged special

Gala Reception

The Conference will start with a Gala Reception on Wednesday evening, 2 November 2016,

at 18:00 hours, where the Associations will host senior members of the Governments of

Albania and Kosovo, as well as all attending guests. During the Gala Reception, the

Exhibition area will be formally open and guests are invited to view the products and

services of the exhibitors to the Conference.

Lunches and Coffee Breaks

Morning and afternoon coffee breaks, and lunches, will be offered during the Conference

days and are included in the registration fee.
