• use helping verbs will or shall with a verb
• I will attend the birthday party.
3 Progressive Tenses
•shows an action or condition that is in progress
–present progressive–past progressive–future progressive
Present Progressive
• use helping verbs such as is, am, are, etc.
• add –ing to the verb
• Matt is eating an ice cream cone.
Past Progressive• use helping
verbs such as was and were
• add –ing to the verb
• I was fishing with my brother.
Future Progressive
• use “will be” or “shall be”
• add –ing to the verb
• Adam will be giving flowers to his mother on Valentine’s Day.
