The ICT Mentor Initiative is Part of the Master Plan 3 Initiative

1. Students need to possess competencies for self-directed and collaborative learning through the effective use of ICT;

1. Teachers need to have the capacity to tailor and deliver ICT-enabled learning experiences for students to develop these competencies;

1. School leaders need to provide direction and create the conditions to harness ICT for learning and teaching; and

2. ICT infrastructure needs to support learning anytime, anywhere.

• The ICT Mentor Framework will essentially guide the work of the ICT Mentors.

• That’s a BIG IDEA!

• It prompts an ESSENTIAL QUESTION…

Page 21: Singapore Leadership Cadre Preparing a successful induction program for the ICT Mentor Initiative. Before we get started, join the MOE Leadership Wiki

TASK Mini Project-Part A

Leadership and Support:Unpacking the Framework

Your job is to develop a guide or supporting materials for your mentors so they can understand the framework – You have permission to adapt the framework providing you provide adequate rationale for doing so.

In interdisciplinary groups of 2 or 3, conduct an analysis on how the elements within the framework work together – How are they alike or different? What will you need to create in order for them to understand how to use it? Are there redundancies that can be eliminated?

You will have 30 minutes to create a map for the framework based upon that analysis.

TASK Mini Project

Leadership and Support:Unpacking the Framework

Upon group consensus half of the teams will continue to refine framework resources. A list of needed resources will be generated upon completion of the presentations.

The other half of the teams will develop presentation materials for mentors to use with school leaders and fellow teachers to inform them of the goals of the program and how they plan to benefit from its implementation.

Presentations or works will be shared at the beginning of Day two activities as a recap and reflection of what we learned on Day one.
