SIRI IAMSIRAROJ ‘ sP ro f i l eAround 21 years ago, a girl named Siri was born in Bangkok, Thailand. Her interest in drawing started since she’s still in kindergarten. While other kids drew stick figures, she tried to draw “proper” human form. She spent most of her childhood reading old novels, watch historic movies, obsessed with historical sites and relics. She also loves to watch cartoons on TV especially Japanese animations, which became her main artistic inspiration.Siri developed her drawing skill, based on that Japanese “anime” style since primary school. She kept refining her skill up till now.In 2010, Siri enrolled in Bachelor of Arts, Animation and Interactive Media.She explored the art of moving images in various areas during this 3 years course and graduated at the end of 2012.

This Portfolio will show the varios types of arts and media Siri have done so far. From the course assignments to some freelance jobs she got involved in.

Dialogue in the DarkDialogue in the Dark was an exhibition in Thailand which gave a blind-like experience for normal people. I had a chance to draw illustrations of the blind guides for the exhibition booklet.

Dialogue in the Darkสาวผมยาว ผิวคล้ำ ที่ไม่สนใจจะเป็นสาวร่างบางตามสมัยนิยม

เป้ มักจะมาพร้อมกับเสียงหัวเราะสดใส และแง่มุมในการมองโลกที่ตรงๆของเธอ

เป้เป็นโรคต้อหินมาตั้งแต่เด็กๆ ต้องหยอดตาทุกวันเพื่อควบคุมไม่ให้ความดันตาขึ้น

เพราะถ้าความดันตาขึ้นสูงแล้ว จะเกิดอาการปวดตา และจะทำให้ประสาทตาเสื่อมเร็ว

เป้จึงจัดเป็นคนตาบอดไม่สนิท มองเห็นเลือนลาง

เธอสามารถเดินทางได้เองในเวลากลางวัน แต่ถ้าอยู่ในที่ๆมีแสงจ้า ที่มืด หรือ

ในเวลากลางคืน เธอจะมองไม่เห็น เป้เข้าเรียนในโรงเรียนสอนคนตาบอดกรุงเทพ

ตั้งแต่ชั้นอนุบาล จนถึง ป.๖ หลังจากนั้น

เธอเรียนหนังสือร่วมกับนักเรียนตาดีที่โรงเรียนสามเสนวิทยาลัยในระดับ ม.ต้น และ

โรงเรียนสันติราษฎร์วิทยาลัยในระดับ ม.ปลาย ปัจจุบัน

เธอใกล้เรียนจบปริญญาตรีจากคณะรัฐศาสตร์ ภาควิชาการปกครอง

มหาวิทยาลัยรามคำแหง เป้บอกว่าเธออ่านหนังสือได้ทั้งหนังสือปกติ และอักษรเบรลล์

แต่เธอถนัดอ่านหนังสือปกติมากกว่า สำหรับหนังสืออักษรเบรลล์ เธอก็ใช้วิธีการเดียวกัน

คือ อ่านอักษรเบรลล์ ไม่ได้ใช้นิ้วสัมผัส เธอมีอุปกรณ์ช่วยในการมองเห็น คือ แว่นขยาย

สำหรับอ่านหนังสือ หรือ ดูสิ่งของใกล้ๆ และกล้องส่องทางไกล เพื่อ มองสายรถเมล์

เป้ยังไม่เคยทำงานมาก่อน การเป็นไกด์ในนิทรรศการบทเรียนในความมืดครั้งนี้

เป็นงานแรกในชีวิตของเธอ เธอตั้งความหวังไว้ว่า หลังจากเรียนจบปริญญาตรี

เธออยากจะทำงานในบริษัทเอกชน

หรือหน่วยงานราชการที่เปิดโอกาสให้คนพิการเข้าทำงานได้

เป้บอกว่า “หนูรู้สึกว่าคนตาดีชอบมองคนตาบอด

เวลาเพื่อนตาดีเดินกับหนู เค้าก็บอกอย่างนี้เหมือนกัน

หนูก็ไม่รู้ว่าคนเค้ามองทำไม หนูก็เหมือนคนทั่วไป มีแขน มีขา พูดได้

เดินเองได้ ทำอะไรได้ เหมือนคนอื่นๆ เพียงแต่มองไม่เห็นเท่านั้น

หนูอยากให้คนตาดี มองคนตาบอดเหมือนคนปกติธรรมดาทั่วไป”
