Introduction
Simons Construction has partnered with HSS Hire for equipment hire including;
This User Guide sets out how subcontractors on Simons Construction sites should transact with HSS, who to contact and the service levels HSS will provide. The overall goals of the relationship are designed to promote price transparency, ensure cross-hire of equipment on site where appropriate, fulfil training requirements and enhance Simons Construction’s environmental goals. HSS Hire is committed to these aims.
All orders placed are a direct agreement between HSS Hire and the subcontractor and Simons Construction accepts no responsibility or liability for equipment hired in accordance with this User Guide howsoever arising.

This User Guide is for all subcontractors on Simons Construction’s projects. All Simons Construction subcontractors must use HSS for all their hire requirements.

What equipment must HSS be used for?
All hire items must be procured from HSS for the duration of the project. HSS has developed a ‘best in class’ supply chain for all non-catalogue hire items to ensure that every requirement can be met, helping you to keep your project on schedule. HSS also provides a single contact procedure to order anything you require on site.

Service Levels
Deliveries
When requested, deliveries will be made within 24 hours. HSS will endeavour to provide same day delivery on orders received before 10am.
Exchanges
HSS will respond within 24 hours of breakdowns during your work programme. However, where an exchange is store critical, HSS will respond within 2 hours.
Collections
HSS will respond within 48 hours of off hire by Simons Construction subcontractors. However, charges will stop from the day the collection is requested.
What if something goes wrong?
HSS has an excellent distribution network of 230 branches and Supercentres, supported by over 500 delivery vehicles. This enables us to provide Simons Construction and their subcontractors with ‘Round the Clock’ coverage 24 hours a day.
However, sometimes things can happen beyond our control. In these cases, HSS has a comprehensive and transparent escalation procedure in place to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.This clear procedure and proactive approach to issue resolution allows us to minimise disruption to your work programmes.
If you are experiencing difficulty, you should contact your dedicated hire desk immediately where our fully trained team will ensure service is restored.

Equipment from other hire companies should only be delivered to site if it has been rehired by HSS through the existing supply chain partners.
