To Russians in Ukraine,

2014

With your own hands

You are tearing your country apart.

This is not love of country

But a love of disorder and chaos.

Remember, you are all brothers and sisters,

All with precious lives and families you love.

Life is so fragile,

Yet you are throwing it away

For nothing of value.

With death, there is no glory.

Only the foolish and ignorant

Expect a reward for actions

Arising from violence and anger.

Where are your prayers,

Where are your wise leaders,

Those who counsel for peace?

Before it is too late,

And your regret becomes a permanent stone

Encircling your neck,

Stop and think.

We are all brother and sisters,

We all love our families,

We all have precious lives,

Life is so, so fragile. . .
