PRINCIPAL’S NEWS
Illness
This week we have seen an unusual level of sickness going through the school.
On Tuesday the sick bay was full of children who we needed to send home. If
your child lets you know they are sick in the morning please do not send them to
school, or be prepared for us to call you to come and collect them.
Contact Details
It is of critical importance that we have the correct contact and medical details
for your child on record at school. We will be sending home the details we have
on file for you to check next week. Please take the time to make any necessary
changes and return to school. If no changes are required please note on the form
and return to school.
Small Schools’ Swimming
Best of luck to our swimmers today, we know you’ll make us proud by ‘giving it a
go’!
Cross Country
Our school cross country will be held this year on Friday, 3rd April. In preparation
for this classes will be participating in training throughout the week and
therefore wearing joggers to school would be advisable.
Staff Professional Learning
Today and tomorrow Mrs Gowans will be attending a professional learning
course focusing on numeracy. Mr Burton will be taking the class for these days
and I know he’s looking forward to it.
Circus Oz
A reminder for those students in Years 3-6 wishing to attend Circus Oz that notes
and payment are due by Friday, 6th March.

Kariong Mountains High School Green Belt
As we have several families whose children catch the bus from Kariong Mountains High School I’d like to update you on changes that will be taking place there.
The section of Mount Penang Parklands just south of Kariong Mountains High School is no longer under the ownership of Hunter and Central Coast Development Corporation and has been acquired by The Stevens Group.
The blue shaded area will be completely fenced off, starting from Monday 24th February. This will restrict parking and pickup areas and students will no longer be able to take shortcuts across the greenbelt.
There will be limited parking between the road and fence boundaries (approximately 3m width) along Festival Drive.

This year we will be doing return & earn. If you have any non crushed bottles or
cans please bring them in and put them in the tall yellow bin in the basement, or
the can depot cage (near the bus shelter).
Canteen News We have a couple of items on specials this week. First item is Quelch Ice Blocks - Reduced to 50c and also Chocolate Milk - reduced to $1.00

afternoon as a stray. We think she may
have gone walk-about when the storm
passed over.
