➢Residents under 65• Anyone who is required to file a federal income

tax return that includes income taxable by South Carolina▪Residents of South Carolina are taxed on their entire income, regardless of where earned, unless specifically exempted by law

➢ All income is subject to South Carolina income tax unless specifically exempted by state law• This includes all income earned inside and outside of

South Carolina▪However, taxpayers may be eligible for a state tax credit if

taxes were paid in another state on the income• The taxpayer may need to file a tax return for another

state if they have income earned outside of South Carolina!
