We believe in lifelonglearning and oureducational facilities
reinforce our commitment tothe environment, the economyand the community. Lake TahoeCommunity College, whichstarted in a motel 40 years ago,has evolved into a technicaland career training school. Thecourses are as varied as thediverse student body includingrenowned firefighter andculinary academies. Communityeducation courses draw on theenvironment and range fromavalanche safety andwilderness first-responder tophotography and fitness. Thereare two high schools on theSouth Shore, Whittell High inNevada and South Tahoe Highin California. South Tahoe HighSchool recently underwent ahuge transformation and isnow home to the Tahoe Artsand Design Academy, sportsmedicine, dental assisting andauto shop programs. Forprimary education, Bijou offersa spanish language immersionprogram and the MeyersMagnet School teaches childrenall about science.
