SPIRAL WINDER CN-2010 -

START-UP BASE MODEL

The CN-2010 spiral winder was especially designed for customers that wish to implement spiral fabric production with a limited budget.

We call this machine the START-UP BASE MODEL that allows you to produce with polyester monofilament round yarns made by well known companies like Nextrusion or Bedea etc.

The usable diameter range for PET monofilament is: ø 0.60 mm to ø 0.90 mm.

Because of the machine design there are limitations in thetype of material that can be produced on the CN-2010.Because the CN-2010 is not equipped with pre-heaterunits prior to the yarn entering the twisting zone this machine cannot process with PPS or ultra high modulusPET monofilaments.

This "Start-up Base Model" enables initiation of spiralmesh production at a reasonable price. The machine canproduce standard spiral sizes as noted in technical datasection, but it is also possible to process other spiral sizesof choice based on desired application.

The range of potential applications for the various possiblemeshes covers a wide range and can be directed at beltingproducts for the paper industry and food processing aswell as the filtration industry.

To put it simply: it will produce spiral mesh belt for use in conveying from section A to B or to act as a filter media.

EQUIPMENT OPERATION:

The monofilament is taken from the bobbin (DIN 250, DIN 335, DIN 355) through the unwinder arm and deliveredto the pre-tensioner spring into the eye of the winder head.If necessary, the monofilament can be coated with a lubri-cant (oil, silicon) prior to entering the winder head.

The next stage; the monofilament passes through a secon-dary winding device and the monofilament is wound ontoa fixed mandrel. This winding is performed by rotationalmotion with the winding device wrapping the monofilamentside-by-side in circular motion onto a specially designedstainless steel mandrel.

At this stage the monofilament is formed into a spiral orcoil. The yarn than passes through a two-zone infraredheating chamber for stabilization.

After leaving this heat zone the monofilament enters the cooling zone and the thermally set spiral yarn comesoff the mandrel and deposits itself into a container or tubefor further processing into assembled spiral fabric con-struction.

SPIRAL WINDER TR-2000/NINFRARED VERSION – HIGH SPEED EQUIPPED

The TR-2000/N machine is the first spiral winder on the marketthat produces spirals with a rotational speed of 2500 rpm.

It is especially designed for coiling monofilament Ø 0.60 and Ø 0.70 mm, but it can also successfully process monofilaments of Ø 0.50 to Ø 1.20 mm. It is a special "econo design" that permits you to economically initiate spiral mesh production by reducing factory cost via increased productivity rates.

The coiled monofilament dimension (major x minor axis)may be chosen according to the desired end use of theassembled mesh. The range of application for the spiralmesh conveyors is very wide and includes the paper in-dustry, foodstuff, and automobile industries and manyother applications. The spiral mesh belt is also useful in thefiltration industry as filter media for use in separation of solids and aggregates.

The rotational coiling speed can be regulated in a variablespeed motor from 0 to 2500 rpm, or via a 3-step-switchset on 1500, 2000 or 2500 rpm. The machine is equippedwith pre-heaters to facilitate "high speed" production,and a spiral take-off that provides variable coil spacing inpreparation for the joining/assembly on our semi-automaticAS-60 joining table.

Incorporation of technologically advanced electronics andmechanical components help to make the "TR-2000/N"virtually maintenance-free.

The FD-2010 winder is especially designed for coiling flat monofilaments with dimension 0.35 x 0.70 mm up to dimension0.80 x 1.20 mm, but has also been fabricated to process roundmonofilaments of Ø 0.50 to Ø 1.20 mm.

It is a special "econo design" that permits you to initiate spiralmesh production at reduced capital start-up costs.

The spiral mesh belt is also useful in the filtration industry asfilter media for use in separation of solids and aggregates. With the capability to produce flat monofilament spirals, the FD-2010 will also produce very thin (low caliper) coils formaking fine mesh spiral fabrics (micro) applied to serve themodern high-speed paper machinery.

The rotational coiling speed can be regulated in a variablespeed manner from 0 to 2000 rpm, or via a key-switch set on1600 or 2000 rpm.

EQUIPMENT OPERATION:

For flat monofilaments, from the rotating supply spindle (torsion-free unwinding, standard yarn package typesDIN200 or DIN250), the monofilament is led over the rotating unwinder to the monofilament removal motor. Then,the monofilament goes directly to the spring pressure brake,the monofilament oiler (per requirement) and the micro-limit switch to the winding head with a fixed mandrel.

For round monofilaments, (DIN 335 or DIN 355 type pa-ckage) the monofilament is unwound directly from a fixedstanding position using the mounted unwinding device.This is performed at a speed of up to 2000 rpm, accordingto the monofil diameter in use. For flat monfilaments thespeed for unwinding a rotating reel must not exceed 1600rpm for safety reasons. (Safety fail-safe with key operatedswitch.) The next stage; the monofilament passes througha secondary winding device and the monofilament iswound onto a fixed mandrel. This winding is performedby rotational motion with the winding device wrapping themonofilament side-by-side in circular motion onto a spe-cially designed stainless steel mandrel.

At this stage the monofilament is formed into a spiral/coil. The coiled monofilament is then passed through a two-zoneinfrared heating chamber for stabilization. After leaving thisheat zone the monofilament enters the cooling zone and thethermally set spiral/coils with precise spacing comes off themandrel assisted by a take-off motor and deposits itself into acontainer or tube for further processing into assembled spiralfabric construction.

Spiral Winder "UVS-2000" ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY VERSION

This automatic winder is specially designed for ROUND monofilament compared to the automatic winder FD-1600/UVS. In accordance with a patented system, almost all synthetic ROUND monofilaments can be processed.

The machine can produce ROUND monofilaments from 0.50 to 1.20 mm diameter, but the monofil can only be unwinded from the floor. Spool size for unwinding from the floor = DIN 335 (10kgs) and DIN 355 (20kgs).

The unlimited drive regulation from 0 to 2000 rpm digital permits processing of numerous ROUND monofilaments.

THE UVS-2000:

In addition, and independently from each other, left and right spirals can be produced. Due to the fully

automatic method, it is ensured that the spirals produced are equal throughout for further processing

into dry or wet felt for the papermaking industry, filtration industry as well as conveyor belts for all kinds.

Full automation means that one person can operate and supervise 10 to 12 winding machines.

METHOD:

From the 10kgs reels (DIN 335) or 20kgs reels (DIN 355) which are unwound when standing on the floor

and by using the supplied unwinding device, the monofilament is led over the rotating unwinder to the

monofilament removal motor. Then the monofilament may either be led over the adjusted preheater or

directly to the spring pressure brake, the electronic filament tensioning with display, the monofilament

oiler (per requirement) and the micro-limit switch to the winding head with a fixed mandrel.

This permits a speed of up to 2000 rpm, according to the monofil diameter.

Through the rotating motion the monofilament is formed into a spiral and led to the guide channel

arranged as moving part. Here, the spiral runs through a heating zone (contact heat). In the cooling

section that follows, the adjusted removal motor can be set to regulate the pitch of the spirals.

(Important for spiral joining.)The spiral runs then over a gliding device into the storage container ready

for onward processing.To adapt the machine to a different spiral size, only a set of mandrels is needed. All

other adjustments are made directly on the machine!

Automatic Winder "FD-1600 UVS" PREMIUM VERSION

This is the first automatic winder on the market which, in accordance with a patented system, can process

almost all synthetic monofilaments.

This universal machine was specially designed for FLAT monofilaments with dimension 0.33x0.50 –

0.80x1.00 mm made of Polyester, Ryton, PPS, PEEK, and other synthetics.

And of course, ROUND monofilaments from 0.50 to 1.00 mm diameter can also be processed. Spool size

for unwinding from the floor = DIN 335 (10kgs) and DIN 355 (20kgs).

The unlimited drive regulation from 0 to 1600/2000 rpm digital permits processing of numerous FLAT and

ROUND monofilaments.

ASSEMBLY MACHINE AS-2010 -

The assembly machine AS-2010 joins 60 separate spirals or coiled monofilament (30 left hand and 30 right hand spirals) onone side of the machine and there are 59 connecting pintles thatare inserted and fed through the spiral opennings at the same time on the other side.

The machine is able to join flat and round monofilament spiralsand in a special "econo design" that permits you to initiate spiral mesh production at reduced capital start-up costs.

AS-2010 SPIRAL ASSEMBLY PROCESS

Using 30 left hand spirals and 30 right hand monofilamentspirals or coils. These are first fed through the machine by a joining block (lacing device) fed through with a com-pression roller feed system that guides and pushes the 60 interlaced mesh through a 150 - 200 mm variable widthchannel on the table which is covered by a clear plexiglassplate.

On the other side of the machine, 59 wire connector pintlesare fed through with a grooved conveying roller and pas-sed through a preheater bank right up to the cutting plate.The spirals are now joined as a 150 - 200 mm wide segment.The operator then removes this segment out of the channeland attaches it to the previous made segment and form thespiral link fabric.

This machine does not include automated PLC controls andtherefore can only be operated manually. The assemblytable is equipped with a spiral and pintle-wire length control meter as well as a cutting knife for a clean cut. Themachine can be operated by only one operator without requiring significant operational training.

EQUIPMENT OPERATION:

With the closure of the plastic cover the operator beginsthe joining process with using the 60 separate spirals. Two rolls convey the joined/laced spiral mesh across thetable within the guiding channel. Upon reaching the presetlength, the joining/lacing operation is auto stopped andthe operator manually activates the spiral mesh cutting device.

The operator then removes the joined and cut spiral meshsegment and manually positions the mesh in preparationfor connector pintle insertion. The spiral mesh segment isthen manually aligned in order to accurately insert the 59wire connector pintles, that is to be fit through the spiralmesh. During connector insertion; once the preset lengthis reached, conveying is stopped and the wire connectorpintles are cut. At this point in the process the finished spiral mesh segment is ready and the cover is opened andremoved for attachment to the spiral fabric.

The AS-2010 can join various spiral dimension and can beconverted to other sizes very quick and easy.

Also this machine system is compatible for all spirals pro-duced by LEO Spiral winders models CN-2010 to FD-1600.

Assembling Machine AS-60 PREMIUM VERSION The assembling machine AS-60 recently developed by LEO Feinwerktechnik automatically joins 60 separate spirals (30 left and 30 right spirals); and there are 59 wire connectors pushed into the spirals all at once. The machine was specially designed for joining flat and round monofilament spirals. The machine has an automatic control with a fixed program cycle. Some parameters can be set manually (e.g. spiral length, wire connector length, etc.). But each operation can also be made manually. This machine can join various spiral sizes. We also offer the necessary conversion kits, e.g. for spiral size 4.50x2.50 mm made of a 0.35x0.70 mm monofilament. The joining machine consists of three sections:

1st section: Spiral joining device with carriage (60 spirals) and cutting device 2nd section: Tables with conveyor belt, device for conveying the spiral mesh, slidable lid and contact

METHOD:

30 left and 30 right spirals are threaded into the machine by a joining block after running over a conveying system.At the other side of the machine, 59 wire connectors are threaded with the help of a conveying device and pass through the preheater right up to the cutting plate.

EQUIPMENT OPERATION:

With the closure of the plastic lid beginns the joining process of the 60 separate spirals. Two rolls convey the joined spiral mesh to the table where a conveyor leads it to a channel. Upon reaching the preset length, the joining operation is stopped and a cutter cuts the spiral automatically. Then, the joined and cut spiral mesh is conveyed in the channel by rapid motion up to the wire connector section where it is slowed down when reaching the light barriers. The spiral mesh is seized and aligned in order to correctly insert the 59 wire connectors. Upon reaching the preset length, conveying is stopped and the wire connectors are automatically cut. Now, the finished spiral mesh is conveyed a little backwards in the channel, the lid opens and the operator can take the spiral mesh out to join it to the spiral fabric. The joining of the joined spiral strip to the spiral fabric is to be made manually, but during this time, the next cycle can run. When the spiral mesh has been joined to the spiral mesh, the individual wire connector can be pushed through the opening by a motor. This machine can be operated by one person because a cycle runs about as long as it takes to join the spiral to the spiral fabric.

Stuffing Table “STU-30” PREMIUM VERSION

The Maschine has an automatic control that allows to to fill spiral mesh fabrics fully automated. That

applies also to heat set and non-heat set fabrics. Only the right conversion set (cutting tool with guiding

plates) has to be changed and set at the Touch Panel with the right production datas.

If needed, all functions can also be controled in a manual operation

One important factor is the spiral quality. In order to ensure an uninterrupted program sequence, the spiral

size should always be within the indicated tolerance and should have the indicated pitch. It is also

important to note that all machine parts are precision parts and should, therefore, be handled with

extreme care.

The stuffing table consists of three sections:

1st section: Introduction of stuffers with creel for 30 monofilament reels and cutting device

2nd section: Tables with conveyor belt, device for conveying the spiral mesh, slidable lid and contact

straight. The pitch for insertion and the straightness of the fabric should be as equal as posible.

the STU-30 Manual machine is specially designed to stuff non-heatset spiral mesh fabrics. the stuffing process will also accommodate the stuffing of heat set spiral mesh fabrics with minimal machine parts and electronic setting changes.

the machine has a semi-automatic control feature with a fixed program cycle. Some parameters can be set manually (e.g. stuf-fer length, fabric take-up and let-off, etc.). but each operation step can also be performed manually.

with a fully integrated take up roll of up to 12.5 meters width on each side it is possible to create a torque of max.800 Nm. this tension capability allows keeping the spirals under controlled tension to assist the stuffer insertion process.

this machine can join various spiral sizes. we also offer the con-version kits for all standard mesh spiral constructions, e.g. for fine mesh spiral size made 5.20 x 2.90 mm made of a 0.43 x 0.70 mm or 5.35 x 3.35 mm made of 0.60 mm monofilament.

mEtHOD:

the ribbon yarn stuffers (1-30 or 1-40 piece) are inserted all at once into the stretched spiral fabric. after previously setting the ribbon length, the machine cuts the stuffers auto- matically. Once the stuffer insertion tool is in the initial po-sition, the operator starts the table take-up drive again to move the spiral fabric forward to the next preset position for stuffer insertion. the target position for stuffer insertion is controlled by a laser.

the machine has the possibility to stuff non-heatset fabrics in either straight or angled position for insertion of stuffers as well as previously heat-set fabrics with straight insertion of single end ribbons. all electronic and mechanical featu-res are included to operate both insertion methods.

On the stuffer insertion side there is a cutter installed to cut the fabrics to a straight cut to help with positioning spiral coil openings for inserting the flat ribbon yarns.

Fabric StyLES:

For previous heat-set fabric an important factor for a good semi-automated run is the resultant spiral quality from the heat-setting procedure. the spiral size should always be within the indicated tolerance as well as have a clean and straight cut in order to ensure an uninterrupted auto-mated program sequence.

the spiral coil opening pitch frequency for insertion of stuffers and the straightness of the fabric should be perfectly aligned into position.

For non-heatset fabrics it is important that the segments at the assembly machine are also aligned perfectly.

Assembling and Stuffing Combination

"AS-60/combination"

This is a possibility to connect the assembling table and the stuffing table to get only one machine. Here

you have the advantage to fill spiral fabrics before heat-setting in order to reduce runtimes at the heat-

setting machine and safe time and energy. With this new development we already took a step forward

and have combined 2 working process into one to produce a stuffed spiral fabric in the same time as an

open fabric by using only one qualified operator.

From our point of view, this style of manufacture of spiral fabrics will be the new standard in the future,

but needs to have good quality spirals, pintle-wires and stuffers as well as qualified operators and raw

material of named suppliers.

This combination has two separate control panels, were a fixed cycle is running. Different parameters can

be set by hand (e.g.: spiral length, pintle-wire length, stuffer length, etc…)

It also possible to use each function by a manual operation.

The assembling & stuffing combination consists of three sections:
