STAGE 1: Early STEM Immersion Programs

• A one-week summer camp that provides STEM curriculum and career exposure through a culturally responsive lens.

• Projected participants: 100

• Goal: To recruit, spark STEM curiosity (growth mindset) and ignite systems thinking.

• Cost: $500 per participant.

2019 STEM Exploration Camp 2019 Robotics Club

• A weekly after-school FIRST robotics program encouraging coding and engineering principles.

• Goal: To strengthen STEM cohort by encouraging the pursuit of STEM-centric careers and studies, while tackling real-world problems against competing teams.

Our goal is to train and expose 200 girls from underrepresented/underserved communities to STEM opportunities through our early STEM immersion programs. By the end of 2019:

• We will increase participants attendance volume by 41% compared to prior year

• 80% of participants will maintain and/or demonstrate improved academic performance

• We will increase or maintain levels interest and engagement in STEM education and career pathways in 80% of program participants

• We will improve or maintain positive attitudes and behaviors towards STEM education and career pathways in 80% of participants
