The FlapperWelcome to the Roaring Twenties, a time of big cars, the Ziegfield Follies, raccoon coats, gangsters, and, of course jazz, in The Cathedral College’s musical The Flapper. Polly Pepper is a young flapper who is about to turn 18 and inherit a fabulous diamond necklace. To celebrate, she throws a madcap birthday party but there’s trouble ahead with mobsters planning to grab the necklace. With a host of crazy characters, stylish dance routines and sensational songs, The Flapper is a great night out for all the family.
The One Day of the YearCome and see one of Australia’s truly classic plays performed by the Rockhampton Little Theatre. Returned soldiers Alf Cook and neighbour Wacka Dawson celebrate Anzac Day the way they always do – getting roaring drunk following the March. Alf’s son, Hughie, is disgusted with his father’s behaviour and is determined to “blow the lid” on the drunken excesses of Anzac Day celebrations in his own devious way much to the chagrin of his father & mother. What follows is an emotional rollercoaster, sometimes funny, sometimes sad, as father and son come head to head.
