SPRING 2012THE LOREM IPSUMS
I know this year has been tough for all of us. We dealt with our first hazing incident nationally and a lossof a sister. Stephanie Philip and her dedication to DKD will never be forgotten.
Regardless of everything we have dealt with, we have definitely taken some great steps towards makingDKD a better organization. I was the first to represent DKD at AFA conference and NAPA retreat. This
was truly the most rewarding experience. I met leaders of other sorority/fraternities that are dealing withthe same issues we are. We are not alone out there and they are all willing to help us move forward! Thisopened my eyes to all the untapped resources out there and what we can do as NB to better serve you. Imso excited about all the ideas I have to share with you at NATIONAL CONFERENCE! Make sure tocome because I will tell you it will be worth it!

My name is Yesha Mehta. I am currently President atRutgers Colony. I am a senior and Information Technologyand Informatics major and Economics minor. I am prettymuch a night student as I work full-time at Johnson &Johnson as an eCommerce Analyst. In terms of school, Iwill be done taking full-time class this semester so that willbe a relief. School, work, and DKD can be stressful at times,
but I wouldnt change my life at all given the chance. The colony at Rutgers University has been working veryhard to leave our mark in terms of service, our relationshipwith other Greek organizations, as well as our OFSA office.Through SAGA, we have developed many relationshipswith 9 other South Asian organizations such as fraternities, sororities, and service-affiliated organizations such as SALTand SOFKIN. We have many goals to continue to expandand make a difference in our community. Thank you all foryour continued support as we wouldnt be as strong as weare now without you all.

Challenges: Need more girls!!Successful events: Adopt a Shelter and Cards for KidsStill on our first year on campus, we are still working onreceiving those awards. The girls have been on top of the game, accomplishing successful events, raising money, exceedingexpectations and off course upholding the legacy left behind bythe sisters all over the nation. Our goal for this semester is to getas many girls as we can. Therefore, recruitment activities areunder construction along with recruitment shirts and we arelooking forward to another successful semester as DKD UNTand Denton Colony. We are truly honored to be a part of this amazing sorority andbecause of the excellent work former DKD girls have
