Dept. of Pharmaceutics, Sree Vidyanikethan College of Pharmacy

organized a Guest Lecture on “Partial Purification of Bulgaricin (Bacterocin)

Antibacterial from Lactobacilli Isolates in Iraqi Kurdish Dairy Product” on

28th June, 2018. The lecture highlighted the partial purification techniques of

antibacterial Bacterocin from the Lactobacilli strains obtained from the dairy

products of Iraq. The resource person Prof. Hamid Ghaffoori Hasan, Ph.D.,

M.Sc., B.Sc. is an eminent personality from Dept. of Biotechnology, Komar

University of Science and Technology, Iraq.

A total of 250 students from B. Pharm., M. Pharm., Pharm. D and

Pharm. D (P.B.), 45 members of faculty from Sree Vidyanikethan College of

Pharmacy, Tirupati and 200 students of B.Sc. (Mi.Bi.C) and 5 members of faculty

from Sree Vidyanikethan Degree College, Tirupati participated in the Guest lecture.

The resource person shared his research knowledge on skills related to the partial

purification techniques of antibacterial agents from the Lactobacilli strains of the

dairy products. This Guest Lecture enriched the students of pharmacy and degree

with skills and techniques to be adopted for partial purification of antibacterial

agents from the dairy products. The guest lecture highlighted the new platform for

biotechnology research. In addition the resource person Prof. Hamid Ghaffoori

Hasan, interacted with the faculty members of pharmacy and degree, gave

suggestions on teaching and research frontiers. He visited the central library,

laboratories and other facilities of the Pharmacy College and appreciated the efforts

of Management, Teaching and Non-teaching staff.
