SAVE THE DATE: FLU VACCINE
There will be a flu vaccine clinic here at school for students and staff on Friday, October 14th from
10:00 AM -12:00 PM. The first and most important step in preventing the flu is to get a flu
vaccination each year. The CDC has taken the Flu-mist off the market this year as they have found it
to be ineffective, so the vaccine will be in shot form only. The Rite Aid Redi-Clinic will be sending a
Nurse Practitioner to administer vaccines here at St. Augustine School. They will be accepting
insurance, so if your plan usually covers the vaccine then they will be able to bill the insurance company based on
the information that you provide. Paperwork will be forthcoming in the next few weeks.
GRACE BEFORE MEALS LUNCH SYSTEM:
To order lunches and take advantage of our modest prices, please go to our school website,
www.staug-md.org, select the “Parents” option, select “Hot Lunch” from the drop down menu,
and login with your user name and password or just go directly to saslunch.org. It’s that simple!
If you forget your login information, need any help with the order process, or have any
problems, please email Mrs. Rhonda Cynkar directly at [email protected]. Thank you for
supporting the lunch program at SAS. Any remaining money is incorporated into the
school’s general funds.
MILK ORDER INFORMATION:
Milk orders close tonight, 9/23 on the lunch program site. If you would like to order or change your
milk order during the year, please email Mrs. Cheryl Marc directly at [email protected].
IT’S TIME TO SIGN UP TO HELP WITH LUNCH DUTY!:
We will be using SignUpGenius this year. just click on the link
www.SignUpGenius.com/go/20F0B4BACA72AA7FA7-lunch1, select the days you would like
to sign up, and then hit the signup button. The children look forward to seeing the volunteers every
day and the teachers and the kitchen crew are thankful for the extra help during this time. It's a great
way to get your volunteer hours, but just remember that all volunteers must be STAND certified
before volunteering at SAS.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:
If you are interested in knocking out quite a few of your service hours this year, please join the planning
committee for this year’s new school event. Breakfast with Santa. We are going to start the planning
meetings this Tuesday, September 27th. Please contact Danielle Rozanski at [email protected] or
call 443-996-1529 for more details. We will be meeting at 6:30 PM at the Stained Glass Pub. Hope to
see you there!
FRIENDLY REMINDER AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:
If you have not done so, please return all forms, including sign-out permission sheets, emergency and
alert contacts, health forms, volunteer hours form, and the handbook acknowledgements Thank you
in advance.
SAVE THE DATE:
School Pictures for PK4-8th grade will be taken September 30th. We are pleased to once again be
contracting with Classic Photography for our photos this year. In addition to your school portraits
you will also be able to purchase a variety of products with your student’s image on them. These
products make wonderful holiday gifts and SAS will receive a portion of the proceeds. Order forms
with more information will go home with your child on Tuesday.
SCHOOLSTORE.COM INFORMATION:
Information went home with your child today about our participation in Schoolstore.com.
SchoolStore.com is an online shopping mall with over 200 merchants including Sears, Target, Office
Depot, Wal-Mart, Toys “R” Us, Family Bookstore, and many more. When you, your family, and friends
make every day purchases online from their favorite merchants, our school earns money. Your scrip
cards can be used in conjunction with these offers. For example: If you use SchoolStore.com and shop at
Walmart.com, St. Augustine School will earn 1-4% back on your purchases. If you pay your online
purchases with a scrip card that you purchased through SAS, the school will be receiving an additional
2.5%. It’s an easy way for the school to earn money by simply shopping online. Please help your child address email
invitations to your family and friends to let them know about this easy way to support our school. The email addresses
you provide will be used for this program only and will not be shared or used for any other purpose.
CROSS-COUNTRY NEWS:
We are proud to announce that SAS had 9 runners in last week’s Cross Country Meet:
Jacob Elijah, Chloe Ingle, Tung Tran, and Tiffany Udeh (5th Grade); Mia Benedetto and Leo Ross (6th
Grade); Lucas Benedetto, Joshua Bonar, and Vincent Throneburgh (8th Grade). We are very proud
of all the runners. We are very excited to have 4 of our runners placed 6th or above: in the 7th/8th
race, we had Josh (first), Vincent (third), and Lucas (sixth). In the 5th/6th race, we had Leo (third). Coach Ross is especially
pleased with the way the runners who finished earliest cheered on the other SAS runners. There will be another meet this
Saturday, September 24th at 9:00 AM, please arrive by 8:45 AM. Come and cheer on our team! Reminder all practices are
held Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30 PM - 4:15 PM.
