High School Teens! Come and join us for the following

Life Teen Events at St. Bernard’s:

8/7 - "Teens Going Deeper" (After the 11am Mass in the

Game Room) - During this event, we will have a time of

singing, Gospel reflection from the teen perspective, sharing,

and prayer! Come and join the conversation!

As we experience growth in our teen and middle school youth programs at St. Bernard's, we'd like those who are called to work with youth to consider a Core Team role with either our high school program (Life Teen) or our middle school pro-gram (Edge). If you are interested in joining either team, please call or e-mail Shannon Hards using the contact infor-mation below.

Thanks and God bless!"

COME INTO FULL COMMUNION WITH THE CATHOLIC CHURCH

On October 9th, we will begin our classes for those 16 and older who want to come into Full Communion with the Catholic Church.

In past years, many of those who attended The Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA) classes came from marriages and families who practice our Catholic faith. Some have attended Mass for years and for some reason did not feel God’s call to join in full communion with our Church. Some of those attending were born into Catholic families and did not receive instruction in all the sacraments. Some have been away from the Church for many years and would like to return. Others were raised in families who were not active in their faith and would like to gain a deeper understanding of Catholic beliefs and strengthen their relationship with God.

If you, a family member or friend feel God’s call to come closer to Him through worship in the Catholic Church, you are invited to join us this fall in RCIA.

For more information about RCIA classes and how to come into full communion with our Catholic faith community, contact Deacon Alan at 480-614-9868.

Society of St. Vincent de Paul Collection for Funds & Toiletries July 30 & 31, 2016

The second collection, at all Masses, the 5th weekend of the month, will support the efforts of the SVdP Conference here

at St. Bernard’s. The money you give supports people pri-marily living in our parish boundaries who are struggling to pay rent, buy groceries and gas, and pay for utility bills.

Also, on the last weekend, there will be receptacles in the

Church for the collection of personal-sized toiletry items for the homeless. The SVdP facilities in Phoenix, which provide showers and barber services, are in constant shortage of

such items. Needed personal or travel-sized items include: soap, shaving cream, disposable razors, shampoo, deodor-ant, toothpaste, and toothbrushes.

We appreciate all your support for the works of the SVdP

Conference here at St. Bernard’s.

Your contributions help us help others. Vincentians of St. Bernard of Clairvaux

In order to keep the prayer list current, we need to remove names listed more than six months. Please advise the parish office 480-661-9843 if any of the above names need to be removed. Thank you for your understanding.

THE OPEN DOOR From the Core Community of ANDRE HOUSE

Andre House is in immediate need of an economy car, sedan, minivan or SUV. If you don’t think your vehicle is “good enough” consider the following: The average Andre House vehicle is 15 years old, has 92,000 miles and a lot of character scratches and dents.

Any running vehicle below those averages improves our fleet!
