It’s hard to believe that September is almost here and we pray you are all having a fun, restful summer with your families. We are registering our students for Faith Formation for Septem-ber. All classes are starting on September 13th for grades K-12. If you have a son or daughter entering any grade and they were not registered here last year, please contact our Di-rectors to register them.

As part of Grandparents Weekend being celebrated on Septem-
ber 12 and 13th at the Linked Parishes of Our Lady of Peace and
St. Cecilia, the presentation, “Stand Up! If Not You...Who?
A call to Grandparents and Grandparents at Heart will be held
on Saturday, September 12, from 9am-noon in St. Cecilia’s
Denti Hall, Solvay, NY. All those of the “grandparent genera-
tion” are invited to this event wherein the 3-fold mission–
Passing on the Faith, Keeping Prayer in the Heart of Family Life,
and Having firm resolve to Witness to the Truth– will be
stressed.

Our Young Adult Ministry is Growing!!
Please join us on Friday evenings; We walk at Onondaga Lake Park
(by the Wegman’s park and flagpole) to pray the Rosary, and then
play Ultimate Frisbee and cook hotdogs. It’s a lovely way to spend

BIBLE STUDY STARTING/MHJ MEETING
Bible Study will begin on Saturday September 12th from 9 am – 11:00
am in the media room at St. Ann’s.
For those attending for the first time please park in the back of the
building, come in the first door and follow the signs.
Following the bible study will be a meeting of the Syracuse lay chapter of the Missionaries of the Heart of Jesus. This is open to anyone discerning God’s call in your life. If you feel you may be
called to join a lay association please plan on joining us.

Marriage and the family cannot be considered a mere product of histori-
cal circumstances or a superstructure imposed from outside of human
love. On the contrary, they are an inner need of this love to fulfill itself in
its own truth and in the fullness of the reciprocal gift of self. Even those
features of spousal union that today are all too often misunderstood or
rejected, such as unity, indissolubility and openness to life, are instead
requests for the authenticity of the covenant of love. It is in this very way
that the bond which unites the man and the woman becomes an image and
symbol of the covenant between God and his People, which finds its defini-
