“GODISWITHUS”

The Child from the womb of the Virgin is called the Christ… Christ in the form of a servant (cf. Phil 2:7) is a servant…but also in the form of a servant he is Lord of human beings. Christ in the form of a servant, because of the excellence of his conception, is Lord of human beings because, even though he assumed flesh, it was not, nevertheless, with the (sinful) contagion of the flesh…

He was not conceived as a mere human being, nor was he born as a mere human being; nor was he accepted afterward as God according to his merit, but rather, God the Word — his unchangeable essence remaining, which is coeternal for him with the Father and the Holy Spirit — assumed flesh for the salvation of humankind, in which flesh he, although incapable of suffering, suffered; and, unable to die, died; and, eternal before the ages, was able to be shown in time.

Saint Isidore of Seville Saint Isidore ( + 636) was Archbishop of Seville, and is often considered the

last of the Church Fathers. He is a Doctor of the Church. 2019 December Magnificat

Is God Calling You?Do You Have Within You a Calling

To Join a Third Order?

Pope St. Pius V Lay Dominicans of St. John the Baptist Catholic Churchinvites new inquirers to attend our first meeting of the New Year onSATURDAY, JANUARY 18, 2020. Discernment is a valuable process in communicating with God to hear Hisstill, quiet promptings. We encourage you to examine the questions below tohelp discern a possible calling from God to join the Third Order Dominicans:

A penitential heart to make reparation for sin & grow in God's graceA desire for personal sanctification & the salvation of souls throughpreaching the GospelA love for Truth (VERITAS, which is the Order's motto)A desire to become One Mind & One Heart with ChristDevotion to the Blessed Mother, especially the daily recitation of the RosaryDevotion to Dominican Saints & BlessedsA desire to pray for the Holy Souls in PurgatoryAn apostolic heart which seeks to serve God & neighborA desire for a rich liturgical life, most especially in the Eucharist and theLiturgy of the HoursA love of study that leads you to a deeper love of God and the ChurchFidelity to the Magisterium
