NH Children’s Trust, Inc., Prevent Child Abuse NH Received a $1,500 Grant to Help Promote

their Period of PURPLE Crying Program The Bishop’s Charitable Assistance Fund has granted $1,500 to support the Period of PURPLE Crying Program sponsored by The New Hampshire Children’s Trust. The Period of PURPLE Crying is a program that educates parents about a developmental phase of increased infant crying. The Period of PURPLE Crying program employs a “3-dose” strategy to reach parents and the community-at-large to bring about a cultural change in how we understand infant crying. The program provides information on the ways to cope with the frustration that inconsolable crying can cause as well as the dangers of reacting to this frustration by shaking or hurting an infant. The agency works with twelve different birthing hospitals throughout the state to share the program with parents of newborns. The New Hampshire Children’s Trust is the lead agency for the elimination of child abuse and neglect in the state. The Children’s Trust invests in evidence-based prevention strategies that focus on the most vulnerable population – children under age three and their families. They believe together we can make significant strides in creating safe, stable and nurturing families and communities, and eliminating child abuse and neglect. The New Hampshire Children’s Trust is the Governor’s designated statewide Community-Based Child Abuse Prevention lead agency, the New Hampshire chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America, and a member of the National Alliance of Children’s Trust & Prevention Funds. Founded in 1986 it is a public charity and donations are tax-deductible. For more information on The New Hampshire Children’s Trust or the Period of PURPLE Crying program, visit www.nhchildrenstrust.org.

A Message from Our Faith Formation Office

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

I hope you are all keeping cool and enjoying your sum-mer! As many of you may know, in the past our parish has had two different programs for CCD, one in English and one in Spanish. We believe that the time has come when we should unify our Faith Formation Programs into one. The Faith Formation Committee has been meeting twice a month this summer to go over the different ways that we can make this a smooth transition and to make important decisions about the program. We have discussed points such as the best day and time for the classes, how we are going to unite both programs, how the classes will be dis-tributed, how we are going to be respectful of the different cultures and languages in the program, among many other things.

On Thursday, August 8th at 6:30pm in the Church Hall we will be having a Parish Information Night open to all parishioners. We will be discussing how the Faith Formation Program is going to be this coming year and all the details about the changes that will be made. We encourage all parents to attend so that you may be better informed of what is happening with the program. We will be talking about Faith Formation in general, including Youth Ministry and Confirmation. If you have any questions or comments please join us on August 8th, or if you are unable to attend the Information Session, feel free to contact me by email at [email protected] or call me at 603-882-4362. We ask that you all continue to pray for the success of this new endeavor, so that the Holy Spirit may guide our efforts to pass on our faith to the new generations.

Blessings,

Bendiciones,
