Oremus pro invicem. “Let us pray for each other.”

I wish to invite you on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land and Rome! Come join me on this spiritually rewarding pilgrimage and celebrate my Silver Jubilee and the Year of Mercy.

Our pilgrimage takes us first to the Holy Land where the Bible comes alive before us with names and events we have been hearing all our lives. It brings a new richness as we walk where Jesus walked in Jerusalem and visit such awe-inspiring points of spiritual interest as the Mount of Olives, the Garden of Gethesemane, Mt. Zion, and the Upper Room.

We’ll also visit the Church of the Nativity in Bethelehem, the Shepherd’s Field, and Nazareth. Add to that the Sea of Galilee, Capernaum, the Mt. of Beatitudes, the site of the Sermon on the Mount, Tabgha, the site of the Miracle of Loaves and Fishes, Mt. Tabor, traditional site of the Transfiguration and much more!

Next we will travel to Italy where our tour ends in Rome, the Eternal City. We’ll visit St. Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City and tour the many sites in “Ancient” Rome. The highlight of your visit will be an audience with Our Holy Father Pope Francis. And to share these spiritual experiences with other Christians is an even more enriching deed. It creates a unique fellowship and is a journey to be treasured forever.

Please look over the brochure and you will see that this 11 day tour will be a lifelong dream come true. Reservations will be on a “first come-first served” basis, so please get your reservation form to me in as soon as possible. Start praying now for a safe, holy, spirit-filled and joyful pilgrimage!

Prayer to Our Lady by Saint Germanus

My refuge and my strength my Lady, my refuge, life, and help,

my armor and my boast, my hope and my strength, grant that I may enjoy

the ineffable, inconceivable gifts of your Son, your God and our God, in the heavenly kingdom.

For I know surely that you have power to do as you will, since you are Mother of the most High.

Therefore, Lady most pure, I beg you that I may not be disappointed in my expectations

but may obtain them, O Spouse of God, who bore Him who is the expectation of all,

Our Lord Jesus Christ, true God and master of all things,

visible and invisible, to Whom belongs all glory, honor, and respect,

now and always and through endless ages. Amen.

WE WELCOME THROUGH THE SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM

William Douglas Van Roi

"Mothers, do you teach your children the Christian prayers? Do you prepare them, in conjunction with the priests, for the sacraments that they receive when they are young: Confession, Communion and Confirmation? Do you encourage them when they are sick to think of Christ suffering to invoke the aid of the Blessed Virgin and the Saints? Do you say the family rosary together? And you, fathers, do you pray with your children, with the whole domestic community, at least sometimes? Your example of honesty in thought and action, joined to some common prayer, is a lesson for life, an act of worship of singular value. In this way you bring peace to your homes: Pax huic domui. Remember, it is thus that you build up the Church.” - Pope Paul VI

The flowers at the altar of Our Lord are donated by Robert and Suzanne McLaughlin.

PRAYER TO OUR LADY OF THE ROSARY: My dearest Mother Mary, behold me, your child, in prayer at your feet. Accept this Holy Rosary, which I offer you in accordance with your requests at Fatima, as a proof of my tender love for you, for the intentions of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in atonement for the offenses committed against your Immaculate Heart, and for this special favor which I earnestly request in my Rosary Novena: (Mention your request). I beg you to present my petition to your Divine Son. If you will pray for me, I cannot be refused. I know, dearest Mother, that you want me to seek God's holy Will concerning my request. If what I ask for should not be granted, pray that I may receive that which will be of greater benefit to my soul. I offer you this spiritual "Bouquet of Roses" because I love you. I put all my confidence in you, since your prayers before God are most powerful. For the greater glory of God and for the sake of Jesus, your loving Son, hear and grant my prayer. Sweet Heart of Mary, be my salvation. Amen.

DIVINE MERCY CORNER

“Tell souls not to place within their own hearts obstacles to My Mercy,

which so greatly wants to act within them. My Mercy works in all those hearts which open their doors to it. Both the sinner and

the righteous person have need of My Mercy. Conversion, as well as

perseverance, is a grace of My Mercy.”

(Jesus to St. Faustina, Diary 1577)

ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT With our increasingly busy schedules we may find it hard to make time for God, but with any friend (and He is our best friend,) He is waiting for us to visit! If Jesus were actually visible in church, we would come in droves to welcome Him, yet Our Lord is literally present, hidden in the Sacred Host. Our faith takes us beyond human appearances so that when we see Christ in the Sacred Host, we can see Him in the unborn child, the weak, the terminally ill, and even those who are angry with us. When we come to Jesus in Adoration we can thank Him for all our blessings and He in return will help us to grow in love and holiness and assist us in correcting our weaknesses. Think of spending just one hour a week with Our Lord. Sign-up sheets for a new session running from November through January will be in the rear of the church. Adoration is on Wednesdays from 12:30 -7:30 P.M., concluding with a Holy Hour. Exposition follows the 12:10 Mass. For more information call Mary Stier at 703.768.7167.

duties. Protect them with the shield of Your strength and keep them safe from all evil and harm. May the power of Your love enable them to return home in safety, that with all who love them, they may ever praise You for
