This artwork was created by Archie G (3/4 GK) last year and was inspired by the Opening Ceremony of the Rio Olympics. It perfectly captured the essence of The Lion King Jr and our interpretation of the Circle of Life. It just had to be used for our amazing closing performances – the African Drumming!

GLEN IRIS DISTRICT ATHLETICS

A little drizzle wasn’t going to stop the keen competitors from St Michael’s enjoying the Glen Iris District Athletics Day. All students ran, jumped and threw to the best of their ability to achieve some excellent results. A big thank you to those parents and teachers who came to support students and a special thanks to Nick and Jo Bowden who worked with students prior to the day perfecting their technique to ensure students competed with confidence.

Congratulations to the following students who made it through to the Boroondara Division Finals: Will N (800m), Ben J (Triple Jump), Annalise M (800m), Annabelle M (Long Jump), Adam J (Triple Jump), Abbey V (800m), Rosie G (Shot Put), Seb M (High Jump) and Harrison E (Shot Put).

I’m sure they will do us all proud!
