STAFF CHANGES FOR TERM 4 2017 It is very disappointing to let
the community know that Donna Miles has resigned from her Associate
Principal’s position. Having said that it is wonderful news for the
Miles’ family. They are moving to Wellington at the end of Term 3.
Both Shane and Donna have won positions in Wellington. Donna has
won a teaching position at Greenacres School teaching a Year 3/4
class, starting at the beginning of Term 4. We have been very
fortunate to have Donna here for 15 years. She has been an
outstanding teacher and leader and will be hugely missed. The
Senior Staff have been considering our options for Term 4 2017 in
terms of replacing Donna’s position. More details soon.
Room 13 families will be aware Shareena Fensom (Room 13 teacher)
is pregnant and she will be starting her year’s maternity leave
from the beginning of Term 4. We wish Shareena and Tim all the very
best for the arrival of their first child and all the joys she will
bring them.
We are very fortunate to be able to employ 3 of our wonderful
relievers/part-timers to other positions for Term 4. Helen Clark
will be teaching Room 13 (replacing Shareena). Candice Duke will be
teaching the new ‘start-up’ New Entrants class (Room 15) and
Cherryl Eden will be teaching Room 9 one day a week, replacing Jo
Stevens (part-time teacher) who is moving to Scotland with her
family for a year.

POOL ASSISTANTS AND POOL PAINTING Dean Wilkinson (caretaker) is
in charge of our swimming pool operations. In November he will be
painting the pool and would really appreciate some help to do so.
Please let Dean, the office or myself know if you are willing to
assist (a few hours or a day or two).
Dean also undertakes the pool attendant duties over weekends and
during the holidays when he is available. Schools are required to
undertake 3 hourly water testing and there are a number of other
tasks that must be completed daily. There is a need for assistants
to be able to operate the pumps, handle and add specific chemicals,
vacuum the pool etc. Dean likes to have the occasional weekend off
pool duties. However, we must at all times have the main pool
controller available in case of significant hassles. When he is not
available in this capacity we close the pool. Dean would like to
train one or two people to assist him. We are endeavouring to
organise some qualifications training fsessions or such assistants.
Please let Dean, the school office or myself know if you are
willing to assist.

GRUMBLES Once a year we are obliged (in accordance with our
‘Parental Concerns Policy’) to remind parents of our ‘Grumble
Procedures’. These are set our on the diagram to the right. This
doesn’t mean there are people complaining. More we are obliged to
inform. Secondly, we are delighted about all the compliments we
receive.
