Memorials

Rest in peace Steve.JUAN CASTRO, MAY 29, 2021

I am so sorry to hear of Steve's passing. I went to school with him I believe

from Chestnut Hill on up. He was always so sweet, smart and kind. He will

always have a spot in my heart and the video makde me very happy that he

has such a loving family, a job he loved and good friends.DAWN WELLS, MAY 28, 2021

I have only just heard about Steve's passing so my apologies for this late note.

I am of course shocked because he was so young. I worked for Steve when he

ran European Delivery in EDS. He was always accessible and with a good

sense of humour yet had a good business head. He cared a lot about staff

morale and was generous to maintain morale - I still have the set of EDS

cufflinks that he gave to us. My sincerest condolences to his family.PHIL AYLES, MAY 14, 2021

I just wanted to send my Condolences to the Familiy of the late Stephen R.

Heidt. Much Aloha! From the State of Hawaii. Sincerly, LoydRAYLOYD HASEGAWA, APRIL 23, 2021

I am so sorry to hear that Steve passed away. I loved working with him in my

days at EDS. In a meeting eons ago, I passed around a sheet of stickers, as a

joke to lighten the mood. Steve was a young VP and we all wore suits in those

days. He walked in and put a sticker of a frog on his lapel without hesitating or

questioning. It said a lot about him as a person and a leader — he was

incredibly talented and already very successful, but he didn’t have an ego. He

taught us that leading a team means being part of the team. Sometime later, I

recall that he said he wouldn’t join us for a big meeting in London because it

would mean missing his son’s birthday. I had never seen an executive

prioritize family time over work — there was a lot of pressure to make work #1,

so it left an impression. He was such a good guy. I’m so very sorry to hear he

passed away so young. Sending my condolensces to the Heidt family as you

grieve.KIM LEDBETTER PRICE, MARCH 20, 2021

I was shocked to hear of Steve’s passing. He was a natural leader who was

brought in to help resolve several issues that I was involved in fixing. He was

direct but very supportive of our efforts, and would take my cell phone calls at

any time when I needed guidance. Steve will be missed.BILL FOX, MARCH 15, 2021

I was blessed to work for/with Steve over the last several years. Prior to

working with him he was already a legend going back to EDS and I had

obviously knew his reputation. I will treasure each moment I was able to spend

with him and all the wisdom he imparted on me. Each encounter made me

stronger and all of those around me. I referred to him as our Yoda to my team

and we took every piece of feedback in just that way. His accessibility was

amazing. Whenever I had my team in town he would make the time to have a

breakfast or dinner with them. This breaking of bread and dialog was genuine

and he was ready to talk about anything. I just can't say enough about how he

impacted all of us and will continue to do so on into the future. Thank you for

sharing him with us. God bless you all. With Sympathy, MarkMARK BORTFELD, MARCH 15, 2021

So sorry to hear of Steve's passing. It is hard to believe Steve is no more.

Steve, the leader with the gruff voice but a large heart. I have a few stories

about my interactions with Steve that I wanted to share here. I worked with

Steve during my EDS days, he was a great leader, well respected with a sense

of fair play. I lived in Michigan but flew to Plano a lot. It was 2006 and I was in

Plano for a meeting. In the morning I got a call from my husband's hospital that

he had to be moved to the ICU. I asked them to keep in touch, he had been in

and out of the ICR for many months. I went back to my meeting but come

lunch time I got summoned to Steve's office. I wondered what I had done

wrong and went over to his office. He called me in to tell me he had changed

my tickets and wanted me to leave right away so I could be with my husband. I

had not told him, but he found out and acted on it. That is the kind of man and

leader Steve was. RESPECT always for Steve! Every time I visited Dallas, I

always made it a point to meet up with Steve. You will be missed Steve. Rest

in Peace!MEENA CHAKRABORTY, MARCH 15, 2021

So sorry to hear of Steve’s passing. I knew Steve from EDS/DRC1. I

remember a good friend, respected co-worker, long weekend group camping

trips, and being welcomed into the home by a very kind man and his friends for

Thanksgiving dinner. As I remember it, Steve made the turkey. God bless all

those who Steve loved and please accept my sincere condolences. Bill KerrBILL KERR, MARCH 13, 2021

Thank you Heidt family for sharing your amazing husband, father and brother

with us. As you can see from the tributes here, and I am certain all the

outreach you have received, Steve touched so many. We all benefited from his

friendship, leadership and wisdom. Thanks Steve for your long coattails

bringing me along to NMCI. Truly the most challenging and rewarding part of

my career. What a team you assembled and what fun we had serving our

client. God’s speed. Patti.PATRICIA HALLIDAY HURST, MARCH 13, 2021

My heart is filled with Sadness when I heard the News of Steve's passing.

When one of your family members passes away, they take a little piece of your

heart with them. Even though we have lived hundreds on miles apart and only

had a few opportunities to get together over the last several years, hundred's

of Memories of Steve have flooded my mind, mostly of our younger days and

all our family holiday get togethers. Steve, Just wanted to Say "You Made it,

YOU'RE NOW SITTING AT THE BIG TABLE" Rest in Peace my Cousin!!

Took a while to find this esteemed group of 7. Two great EDS'ers gone now

and a lot more grey hair among us that are still here. I always enjoyed working

with Steve. Straight forward and honest with that unique raspy voice. Let's not

forget the many after-hour occasions tipping a few back. This boy knows how

to play hard, both on and off the field. You will be missed my friend.....a toast

to a life well lived. My condolences to all family and friends this sad day.

JEFF KELLY, MARCH 13, 2021

Steve and I worked together at EDS in the early 2000s running the Business

Process Outsourcing business for the company. He was serious but light

hearted, gruff but funny, far sighted but tactically focused and quick to an

opinion but open to others thoughts. On reflection, I have probably adopted

some similar behaviors after working together. Steve you are already missed

and can never be replaced but you live on in each and every one of us that had

the good fortune to work with you. Pam, Andrew, Daniel, Emily, you have my

deepest sympathies. Rest in peace my friend.MATT CHAMBERS, MARCH 13, 2021

As has been said, Steve was a great leader and mentor. I was always

impressed how he could go from high level strategic thinking down to the

weeds to clear up issues and guide his teams. His memory of the details and

any open actions was also so impressive. He was tough but fair and each of us

became better because of him.BEA RENDON, MARCH 13, 2021

Dear Steve I’ve just recalled that night that we took you and the EDS BPO

Latam leaders to a very simple / cheap pizza place ( that I’ve mistakenly

booked assuming it would be another one ) and still you had such a great time

- and even making fun of me me due to the “ceiling fans” branded as

“VentiSilva” Plus - I will never forget everything you made for me to receive the

20-year EDS gift - after the fact - like 2 years after more or lease - since EDS

Brazil has forgotten to provide it to me - you’ve gone through a lot of

exceptions and even arranged me a trip to Plano ( I was traveling to Mexico at

the occasion ) for me to receive the beautiful and delicate watch Every time I

wear this watch I remember you All of these episodes happened about 15-20

years ago I think You will be forever missed and I pray for your soul and for

your relatives and beloved ones Sincerely SylviaSYLVIA CHRISTINA SANCHEZ, MARCH 13, 2021

Dear Pam, I am very sorry for your loss. May his soul rest in peace. I'm

keeping you in my thoughts. Sending you and your family prayers and loving

thoughts.ALMA ADRIANO, MARCH 13, 2021

Great leader and friend, so many incredible projects and great teams with this

man. Thank you, Steve! Rest in Peace.NANCY MICHALEK, MARCH 13, 2021

Very fond memories of Steve and the Heidt family living with them in Allen

when I was just a teen. I miss you all. I pray that your grief is short. Celebrating

you Steve - I bet heaven is beyond what any of us could imagine.MARIA LIDDIARD DOBBS, MARCH 13, 2021

Steve was an important figure in my childhood. He was always a larger than

life kind of guy and really inspired me to just take a breath and enjoy the

scenery. I’m deeply sorrowful for the family he has left behind, but I have no

doubt that he will live on through the memories that he left us all. Thank you,

Mr. Heidt.AUSTIN LOCKHART, MARCH 13, 2021

My condolences to the Heidt family. I consider myself very lucky to have

worked with and known Steve over the years. I will never forget our first joint

visit to a CIO and acquisition executive for a potential new client, after

introductions they asked Steve what he thought of their support strategy. Steve

then looks each in the eye and starts listing the many reasons why the strategy

is destined to fail. Six months later we won that contract. Steve was a unique

and very special person and I am a better person for spending time with him.MARK WHITE, MARCH 12, 2021

My deepest condolences to the entire Heidt family. It has been an esteem

pleasure supporting Steve these last 8 years. He has influenced many of us

with great leadership, outstanding knowledge, strong candor, and laughter that

brightens and lifts the room. I always admired the humility shown and the level

of respect received by many. Greatly missed, yet never forgotten. Always in

my thoughts and prayers. Thersia JacksonTHERSIA JACKSON, MARCH 12, 2021

Our sincere condolences to Pam and the family on your loss. Pam please

know that we will always be here to support you. Steve was a good friend,

fishing partner and the Godfather of the children and he will be missed by all of

us. Greg FranceGREG, JACKIE, ANTHONY AND EVELYN FRANCE , MARCH 12, 2021

In an industry full of buzz words like “safe pair of hands,” “trusted advisor,” and

“people matter most,” it’s the actions behind the phrases that count. Over the

years that I was lucky enough to work with Steve, he embodied all these

phrases and more. Knowing that Steve was at the helm of any project gave a

feeling of comfort to the client, company and the employees. When Steve

agreed to take on a project, he made a point to know it, understand it, inside

and out. It didn’t matter what you threw at him, Steve took it in stride and made

sure we delivered on our commitments and always did what was best for the

client. That, my friends, is the very definition of a safe pair of hands.

Sometimes, just sometimes, Steve’s job was to talk the client away from a

shiny new object or redirect them to a better, safer option. Something he was

able to do because they trusted him and knew that he wouldn’t lead them

astray. Regardless of what Steve was facing in his personal life, he never

waivered on his commitment to his team. Somehow, he always managed to

find the time to participate in the team building activities, even supplying

videos talking about his approach to football game days, Thanksgiving

traditions and what Veterans Day meant to him. He did all of this, and more,

because he knew at the end of the day, people mattered. It was a responsibility

he didn’t take lightly. While the enormity of what we’ve lost is still settling on

our shoulders, I know we’re all so much better for knowing and working with

Steve. As we gather to say our goodbyes this weekend, try to find some

comfort that after the long COVID year, Steve has brought us all back together

again. Taken from a coworker, “this is his final gift to us.”CATHY ANDERSON, MARCH 12, 2021

I recall all the fantastic times we had at Computer Tech as well as the amazing

trails we shared as we moved through our EDS/HP careers. Creating multiple

fond memories and sharing friendship all along the way. You will be missed

Sincere condolences to the entire Heidt family. Steve was such an inspiration

and will be missed. He was such an incredible leader, friend and mentor. Many

good thoughts and prayers are with you all. RIP Steve.LAURA FLOYD, MARCH 12, 2021

Plainly put, Steve was a leader fueled by experience, common sense, and

direct communication. Steve embodied the best of "legacy" and in so doing

created his own. Steve will be missed in many ways and for many reasons but

mostly because Steve falls into that rare category of people who cannot be

replaced. Steve, rest well and if you have wi-fi "up there," know that we have

"our 'top' men ... 'top" ... on it down here." My deepest condolences to Steve's

entire family. Jim GallagherJIM GALLAGHER, MARCH 12, 2021

I worked with Steve first in 1989 in IMC Operations when he was the worldwide

IPC leader back when we were spending millions of dollars on huge

mainframes. We worked together multiple times throughout the years on major

new business deals. He was s tough but fair negotiator who worked very hard

and expected the best out of everyone that he worked with, but he was fair,

brilliant and tried to make work fun whenever possible. He was one of the best

of EDS! Rest in Peace Steve!

A great leader. I enjoyed working either him when we’re at EDS.KURT TOELKEN, MARCH 11, 2021

Steve was a friend and a inspiring leader. I really got to know him when we

worked on the Xerox account and again when he lead the EMEA Technical

Services team. We all learnt a lot from Steve. We had some great fun,

especially visiting pubs and drinking real ale, playing snooker and at the same

time developing the EDS business. He will be missed across the globe by all

his friends and colleagues. My deepest condolences to Pam and the family. I

am sorry I can not be with you to celebrate his life but hope to watch the life

stream of the service.DENNIS CANN, MARCH 11, 2021

Steve Heidt was my manager, friend and mentor for most of my EDS career.

He was one of the smartest people I have ever met. He could find solutions for

issues I would never have thought of. He was one of a kind and I will miss

him!!!JUDY STARR, MARCH 11, 2021

I want to express my condolences to Steve's family and friends. When I first

began working with Steve years ago, I remember feeling intimidated by his big

personality, rough voice and strong point of view. However, I was fortunate to

get to know him over time and to deeply appreciate his genuine leadership

style and the sincere care he felt for everyone around him. He was a mentor to

many, and always impressed with his ability to speak on almost any topic,

quickly connect dots and produce brilliant solutions. He made people feel

valued, which is an exceptional gift. I will miss him.COLEEN HUFF, MARCH 11, 2021

Steve and I go way back to the EDS days. So long ago. In looking back, we

both had some similar stops in our careers - Auburn Hills and Plano data

centers along with Account Business functions especially in support of General

Motors. A lot of great stories and experiences for sure. He was a great mentor

to me over the years, always in my corner for support and guidance. Steve was

one of the few big time players in this IT Industry that had it all - Business,

Customer and People.MICHAEL D. MARTINO, MARCH 11, 2021

Steve was a wonderful person. He was not only a friend and mentor to many

both personally and professionally, but a genuinely nice person. He lived his

life with fervor and by the values of an Eagle Scout. He was trustworthy, kind,

obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent. He did his best and had

fun while doing it. I'm sure that he will be missed by many. Our hearts go out

to his family as we mourn for their loss. We rejoice in the fact that he is with

our Lord for eternity and waiting to see us in our heavenly lives.DAVE SMITH, MARCH 11, 2021

May his memory be eternal.BILL WALLENMEYER, MARCH 10, 2021

To the Heidt family our sincere condolences. We have surely lost a leader who

has left memories behind. I remember Steve when he came to Mumbai to

inaugurate the centre ,he kept us all in splits of laughter, but the most

impactful statement to all of us was ' Thank you for all your efforts but your job

has just begun'. And there was no turning back. The centre grew and nurtured

leaders who are ever thankful to this wonderful man. Rest in peace Steve.

Gone but you wont be forgotten. Dr Angela Kurien MurzeANGELA , MARCH 10, 2021

Steve was a great , knowledgeable leader at EDS. I can thank him for giving

me opportunities that let me have a good career at EDS. Working on an

operational deal he always knew the financial numbers. Anybody who didn't

witness him address an employee that failed something, missed out on some

EDS lore. I still recall him telling me if this happens again, I will be standing

outside the EDS gates wearing a sandwich sign saying "I'll work for food." I'll

miss his sinister, I know more than you, smile. He always had our backs.

Thanks Steve. You will be missed.DWIGHT WATSON, MARCH 10, 2021

My deepest sympathy and prayers for the family. I had the privilege of working

with Steve on a number of assignments throughout my career at EDS. We

learned Quality Management together supporting the Truck and Bus Account,

costed the Xerox deal, and were expats together in the UK. I was always so

impressed with his knowledge and experience at such a young age. He was

smart, willing to work the hours, and could rally the team to the finish line! We

worked a lot of hours under a lot of stress but Steve made it fun! He did make

me a little nervous at times voicing his opinions to the execs. He definitely was

not a "yes" man and was not afraid to tell it like he saw it! It always seemed to

work out. My funny story about Steve is when he rescued the first Christmas

party I hosted at my home in the UK for my finance staff. He was the only

operations person I invited. When he walked in and saw everyone sitting

around looking quite bored, he took over bartending. In short order, people

loosened up, mingled, and started laughing. I think it might have been the

"doubles" he was mixing!! RIP, Steve. I will always remember you fondly.DORREEN A CLEMENTS, MARCH 9, 2021

I wanted to say this to Steve in person, since the time I came to know that he

was fighting an advanced stage cancer, but never got a chance to do it, so I'm

choosing to put my thoughts in first person: Steve, I wanted you to know that I

will always consider that it was an honor to have served on the NMCI/NGEN

program, under your leadership. You truly brought to bear your decades of

experience dealing with complex business environments in how you lead

EDS/HPE/DXC/Perspecta through NGEN over the last decade, and turned it

into a truly flagship business that met the customer's mission needs on the

forefront, and brought deep profits to the company too. I could say you let us

down by not winning your fight, but I know that there was a very human side of

you too, that believed in accepting destiny and fate, and with that memory, I

say good bye. I wish the Heidt family well, and may you always cherish Steve's

legacy.SHER JB SINGH, MARCH 9, 2021

The news of Steve's passing was shocking and so unexpected, especially at

such a young age. He was the most dedicated, hard-working person I know,

who made so many sacrifices in exchange for the good of the programs he

managed. I used to look forward to meeting up with him Monday mornings in

DFW, on our weekly trips to Herndon. My sincere sympathy and prayers go

out to Steve's family and friends, who will miss him dearly.ROBIN MATHIAS, MARCH 9, 2021

To the Heidt Family, No doubt all of us share your loss as you can see from all

the testimonials. Thank you for sharing Steve with us. Steve was an

extraordinary and unique human being wrapped into a joyful, playful force of

nature. His deep integrity and eye for mischief made him a great friend and

colleague - announced like an approaching whirlwind with that wonderful,

gravelly voice. Please take some comfort from the fact that he has not left us,

but now resides in each of the many people that carry a little piece of him

and honesty. He challenged me to think outside the box when it comes to the

providing exceptional service to the customer and support for the employees.

When we would see each other we would say "here comes trouble". Steve had

a spirit within him that made people around him better. I am blessed to have

encountered that spirit in my life when I did. RIP Steve!THURSTON DIXON, MARCH 9, 2021

just do not change; the World was certainly more fun with Steve in it. We all

had us some good times when Steve was part of the party and there were

plenty a parties. Until we meet again my friend - Rest In Peace. My thoughts

and prayers are with your family during this difficult time.MARK TRIO, MARCH 8, 2021

Working with and getting to know Steve was one of the highlights of my time at

EDS. He was a tremendous leader and peer, always honest and direct, and

always involved and caring. I remember telling him that my wife Andree' and I

were expecting our 3rd child - he smiled, congratulated me, and said "Good

luck - you're going from leading to herding!" I left EDS years ago, but was

lucky enough to run into Steve on a flight a year or so ago, and it reminded me

how often I've used what I learned from him in my career (including that advice

about herding). Andree' and I are keeping Steve's family and friends in our

prayers.TOM AMENT, MARCH 8, 2021

Condolences to the Heidt family and friends of Steve. I was fortunate to have

Steve as a direct leader twice, the EDS COE project and again on NMCI. I

always appreciated his direct, honest and humorous leadership style. He made

you want to be and do your best for the company, customer and yourself. One

of the great EDS Leaders!!. Keeping flying high Steve, you will be missed.PATTY LOCKE, MARCH 8, 2021

Steve was a legend...loved by all who worked for him...respected by his

clients...a man I looked up to. I was blessed to have the opportunity to work so

closely with him during my time at HP/HPE/DXC. No ego in that he did not

care who got the credit, he did not care “who worked for who”, he just wanted

things to work. There was NO problem he could not solve. He was devoted to

the company and gave 110% every single day. I am better for having known

him and Marjy and I will miss him tremendously.

My sincerest condolences to the Heidt family, and his extended Perspecta

family. The lovely stories shared in this memorial are wonderful and bring a

but kind, nature, his dedication to his work and his people, and his wonderful

sense of humor that can make even a meeting about IT and financials fun. He

friends. Steve brought skill, wisdom and humor to our Executive Leadership

Team at Perspecta. He was also a thoughtful and deeply caring leader -

always putting the needs of his people first. I will never forget how he always

took the time to make me feel included, supported and valued. I am so grateful

for the privilege of knowing him.TAMMY HELLER, MARCH 8, 2021

Our deepest condolences to the Heidt family. It was a privilege to work with

Steve serving our Navy and Marine Corps customers. Steve cared about every

member of his team and could be counted on to always do the right thing, even

if it was the harder choice. He was a mentor and set a tremendous example for

us all. Some of my favorite memories of Steve are when he got to speak to the

classes of Secretary of Defense Fellows and give them an unvarnished

description of the business of working with the Government. I will miss his

counsel, his sense of humor, and his leadership.MIKE ENOS, MARCH 8, 2021

I have known Steve since grade school in Erie, PA and grew up in the same

general neighborhood. I still have memories as far back as Cub Scouts (his

mother, Audrey, was the den mother). Upon hearing of Steve’s passing there

was a collective sadness among a close circle of high school friends from long

ago. We reconnected and reminisced. We remember Steve for his magnetic

personality, fun loving nature and adventurous spirit. He was an excellent

athlete and very intelligent, with no surprise that he become so accomplished.

I give my deepest sympathy to the Heidt family. Most certainly, Steve will be

missed. JeffJEFFREY BUETIKOFER, MARCH 8, 2021

For years, I heard Steve's name, but had not had the opportunity to work with

Sorry to learn this. He was just the leader I needed at the right time. I still

My family would like to extend our prayers and best wishes to the Heidt family

for such a tremendous loss. I only knew Steve for a few years, but instantly

took a liking to him when he interviewed me for a position with Perspecta in

October 2018. His professional intellect and straight forward manner, mixed

with a touch of humor resonated with me and confirmed my desire to work for

Perspecta if offered a position. Steve Heidt was a strong results-driven leader

who never lost his humanity. He instilled an atmosphere of trusted

professionalism that afforded dignity and respect to all who came in contact

with him. Proverbs 13 tells us that a good man leaves a legacy or inheritance

to his children and grandchildren. Steve Heidt was a good man who left a

legacy of honor and integrity that I hope will comfort your family and give you

strength through this season of loss. Respectfully, The Brokate FamilyBRYAN BROKATE, MARCH 8, 2021

Steve was truly the consummate professional. In the brief 3 years I got to work

with him on the stand-up of Perspecta, he was a great source of wisdom, wit

and history. He was one of those individuals that I truly enjoyed working with,

and his untimely loss creates a void in our company leadership that cannot be

replaced (nor will we try).BARRY BARLOW, MARCH 8, 2021

Steve was one of a kind, when we weren't working I loved talking with him

Scheduling Shift mgr at Dallas. 80-81?timeframe. Finally got to work for him

when he took over Plano. Great guy to work for. One of those I refer to as a

Leader, not a Manager. I’ll never forget his “scale for machine intelligence “

that he applied to all our computer systems and their associated parts. Most

were not high on his scale. RIP Mr Heidt! You’ve left a void that won’t be filled

soon for all of us.TERRY GONDER, MARCH 8, 2021

Our deepest condolences to Steve's family on the very sad loss of a great guy.

He will be missed by the Heidt clan here in Erie. He came from a great family

and produced a great family himself. All my memories of Steve are of fun,

happy times running around a soccer field or hanging out. He had a great

sense of humor and brightened every gathering with his jokes and infectious

smile. It was always great to see him and catchup on his visits back home to

Erie. Our prayers are with Steve's family. We can all be comforted in the

knowledge that Our Lord has brought him home. Ed Clark and family, Erie PAED CLARK, ERIE PA, MARCH 8, 2021

I remember Steve very well, he was a genuine EDSer, always very honest and

equally very fair. The global Y2K team of which I was a member representing

EMEA, has fond memories for me, it was a great opportunity and after our

success we all had a great time celebrating together at our well earned global

Y2K party in Plano. As always Steve was the heart and soul of the party and

that is when you got to see his other qualities. I still have my Y2K shirt and my

signed Y2K picture hanging up in my study with his signature on it - just great.

Gone much to soon, condolences and prayers for his family. RIP Steve.FRANK O SHEA, MARCH 8, 2021

This is incredibly sad news. Steve was a really influential guy and a good

friend to many of us in the EMEA division. I have a particular memory of how

he accepted the outrageous humour of the landlord if The Plume of Feathers

in @ 1996 when we were running the bid for the Inland Revenue. It was a quiz

night and he was refused entry to the pub because he was an American. He

took the joke well and became an instant success. A great mentor to me

personally and always available to help. RIP and many condolences to his

family.SIMON O’CONNOR, MARCH 7, 2021

I worked with Steve on a number of projects when I was based at the EDS HQ

sorry that he has died so young.IAN MILLER, MARCH 7, 2021

I first met Steve back in 1980-1982 (?) , when we worked at EDS in Dallas on

Forest Lane in DRC1. He became my shift manager in Scheduling. You could

tell he was going to go far in EDS, but I was still amazed at how quickly he

rose through the ranks. He was a strong personality, smart, funny, ambitious, a

loyal EDS-er, for sure. Lots of great memories from that period in time. May

Steve Rest In Peace and God’s blessing of comfort and strength surround his

family now and in the difficult days to come.

BETSY CLEAVINGER, MARCH 7, 2021

Very sad to hear that Steve has passed away. Even though I never met Steve

in person but I had the pleasure to work for him during my times in BPO at

EDS. He was exceptional and always demonstrated leadership at its best - he

definitely was one of the rare good ones at EDS. Even though we worked 5300

miles apart from each other I learned a lot and enjoyed every minute being

with him on calls - the business part as well as the fun part. He will certainly be

missed by many and the world has lost a good man. My deep condolences to

the Heidt family and may he rest in peace. You will be remembered Steve.MARKUS KESSLER, MARCH 7, 2021

My thoughts are with his family at this time. He was a strong leader and I

thought you’d enjoy this story. I once attended a meeting with him at EDS

about Leadership Development and I thought we’d be talking about a typical

list of topics we should cover in an upcoming training class. But he asked

everyone to tell a story about when a leader made an impact. Everyone around

the table shared emotional stories. By the time we were done, we all had tears

in our eyes. Steve led this discussion to a deeper level than any of us

expected. He will be missed.CAROL BRICKELL, MARCH 7, 2021

So sad to learn of Steve's passing. Steve was a good leader. Sometimes he

came off as a little rough, but he got things done, and was always willing to

listen to what a bunch of Lab Rats were up to in the skunk works. No matter

how off the wall the idea, if it was good for EDS and those we served, he was

willing to listen, consider, and try. That's what you would expect from a good

leader and coach! My condolences to all in the Heidt family, and HIS Shalom,

HIS Peace, for you in your time of mourning.DENNIS TALLUTO, MARCH 7, 2021

Steve was my leader on many different roles and projects, most notably the

Y2K effort, called TI2000 (Technical Infrastructure). He made a difference at

EDS and with us individually. Steve never made us feel like decisions were an

"ivory tower" command, but rather sought our input and made work

collaborative. He will always be on my short list of favorite leaders during my

33.5 years with EDS/HP. Wishing your family prayers for comfort and peace.CINDY FERTENBAUGH, MARCH 7, 2021

The fact that Steve would become so successful is not surprising. His great

intelligence, personal integrity, and ability to develop life-long friendships

surfaced at an early age. Steve and I were freshman roommates at St. Vincent

College in Latrobe PA where we became good friends. Steve rarely studied.

He did not have to. In fact, rather than studying for his own freshman year final

exams, he spent a large amount of time typing a French term paper for me. He

did it because he knew I was struggling and that I needed the help. That is the

type of person Steve was. There was nothing he would not do for his friends.

Dear Steve You were one of best leaders - of not THE best - senior leader I

had the chance to work for in EDS - you’ve created a new organization that

turned into one of the best places to work and whose customers were very

satisfied with. I will never forget your leadership style - tough and kind at same

time - straight forward when related to financial management and yet

extremely people person when treating your team and relating to customers

You’ve been and will forever be a role model from both professional and

personal perspective since you’ve always valued and dedicated quality time to

both the company you’ve served as well as your loved family I am already

missing you and your legacy - in the other hand I am very grateful to God for
