1. Steps to Install VM.ware.Workstation.v7.1.0.Build.261024.Final

1. Create a folder (for eg. folder name is LINUX )

2.Unzip VM.ware.Workstation.v7.1.0.Build.261024.Final.rar zip file

3.Run the VM.ware application file from the unzipped file.

a. Specify the path to VMware folder created within the LINUX folder.

b.When the process asks for key , Copy anyone of the key from the Key.txt file

( It will be in Vmware Unzipped file ) in it.

Now Vmware software will be installed successfully in the specified path.

2. Steps to Install Red Hat Enterprises Linux 5 inside VMware

1.Open VMware Workstation . Go to File =>New =>Virtual Machine

2.New Virtual Machine Wizard GUI will come, follow the steps in that

a) For type of Configuration => Choose Custom (which is recommended ) andGive next

b) For Virtual Machine Hardware Compatibility => Choose Workstation 6.5-7.xand Give next

c) For Install from : choose installer disk image file (iso) and browse the path ofRedhat_EE5.nrg file (In file types , choose All files ). and ( Give next )d) Enter the details in the window as shown below and ( Give next )

e. Choose the path to install linux. Create a folder inside the drive which u allocated forthis vmware tool and browse that folder. ( Give next )

O. Go to the folder which mentioned in the step e. Deleted the autoinst file fromthe folder.

P.Now select Power on this virtual machine option in COMMANDS COLUMN.

Now it will start installing the linux, Press enter after clicking into that red hat window.

Q. Give Skip as Shown below

R.Give Next as Shown below.

S.Choose language , ENGLISH ( ENGLISH) - Give NEXT

T. Choose the keyboard for the system as U.S ENGLISH & Give NEXT.

U.In Installation Number window , Choose Skip Entering Installation Number and GiveOK.

Then Give SKIP in next window.

then Give YES in next window.

V.Choose CreateCustomLayout in the

next window, as shownbelow.givenext

Select the option New in the next window, enter following details

Mount poit: /

File System type : ext3Size (MB) : 18432

Give OK.

X.

Click on Free row in the window, Give EDIT, , enter following details

File System type : swap

click OK.

Click Next.

Then Click Next in next window.

Then Click Next in next window.

Then Select ASIA/Calcutta and click next.

Then Give Root password and click next.

Select Software development & Web Server and Choose Customize now option .Click

Next.

Choose whatever applications required & Give next.

Then Give Next (Installation will be started ) .IT ll take minimum of half an hour..

Then reboot by clicking on reboot option.

then Give forward to all windows, set the time and give finish

Steps to Edit the license .

Open license file with wordpad then follow the steps

1.Change Server hostname1 to Server localhost.localdomain

Steps to Edit the Red Hat Enterprises Linux.VMX file

(This file can be found in the folder where you installed the linux using vmware)

1.Open Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.VMX file with word pad

2. Change

ethernet0.address type = generated to ethernet0.address type = static

ethernet0.generated address = 00:1a:4d:1d:1f:c8

(you can find this number set inside the double quotes in the license files and near to Serverlocalhost.localdomain or Server hostname1 line )

3. Save the file and close it.

Steps to install synopsys.

1.Extract Installer zip file and run setup.sh file(double click on it and choose the otionrun ). Now installer GUI will appear.

2.Choose the path where you copied the tool ,give done and click ok.

Steps to Solves Lib problems when using wave viewer ( HSPICE OUTPUT )

* (enter ) means press enter

1. Copy libXm_so_3_0.2 lib file to /root

In terminal type

cd root (enter)ln -s libXm_so_3_0.2 libXm.so.3 (enter)

The libXm.so.3 will be created in root folder. Copy that to /usr/lib location.

2. In terminal type

cd /usr/root (enter)

ln -s /usr/lib/libXpm.so.4.11.0 libXp.so.6 (enter)

The libXp.so.6 lib file will be created.
