The students explain below what they did to achieve their Ruru Learner Awards. This week the teachers and myself have been sharing our learning journey with the team from ERO. I would like to draw your attention to the Measles notice on Page 3, and urge you to read the notice and take action if neces- sary. Please ensure we have your child’s current immunisation status. Kauri Hub: Erin Butterfield - for doing in depth research on Treach- er Collins Sydrome and sharing it in a high quality way. “I created a powerpoint presentation on Treacher Collins Syndrome.” Totara Hub: Ella McKnight - for relating to others by working together and sharing maths strategies in your group. “I have been figuring out maths problems in my brain and then using number line to check if its right.” Jamie Grylls - for demonstrating our Ruru learner qualities and helping others to make good choices. “Someone was messing around so I had to tell the teacher so they could sort it out.” Kowhai Hub: Jorjaina Mathieson - for independently fixing her mistakes while reading. Kevin Christy - for being on task with his learning all the time. Gemma Brennan - for knowing her next steps when learning. Rata Hub: Chaz Wallbank - for always staying on task and completing all of your work. Chaz is away today so we have been unable to take his photo. Ruru the Morepork hopes you get well soon Chaz! Zachary Findlay - for having such a positive start to Term 2. Good on you for being responsible for your actions. “I listen to the teacher and make sure I am doing what I am sup- posed to do.” Success for Ohaupo Soccer Teams in the Fred Amess Cup The Fred Amess tournament was held in Te Awamutu last Sunday. Ōhaupō School were the defending champions from last year and entered three teams this year, one of which was a girls only team - the Ōhaupō Dark Angels. The Ōhaupō Black Knights successfully defend- ed last year’s victory and won the Fred Amess Cup, going undefeated through the whole tournament without conceding a single goal. The Ōhaupō Red Devils finished top of their group but lost to Ngahinapouri in the semi finals through a last gasp goal having taken the lead early on in the match. The Ōhaupō Dark Angels were the inaugu- ral girls team winners and won the Shield competition. What’s happening … PTA NEWS

Oxford Pies - order forms will be coming home next week. We are still looking for someone to help collect and collate the orders, and distribute the pies. This doesn’t require too much time and there is a snack pack available on delivery day for the helpers!
