SERVICE COUGARS VOLLEYBALL CAMP Our volleyball camp, hosted by coach-es Jim Povolo, Steve Thompson and Roxie Knight, welcomes beginners and experienced volleyball players. Our coaches and volleyball players provide a fun, positive, skill building experience for the campers. The camp is limited to 50 players, first come first serve. Camp cost includes volleyball instruction, camp T-shirt and healthy snacks. FOLLOW THE CHILD ON THE FARMTaught by certified teachers. Science activities with daily animal interac-tion. Hands on Montessori influenced. The camp culminates in a viewing of the students’ creations.Age or grade level: Ages 7-9Date: June 13 - June 17 Robot It: Art and Vision Campers explore visual art and de-sign as they explore the Anchorage Museum’s collections, and then design and build robots that produce visual art. Art-bots will be based on campers’ own inspirations as well as principles of machine vision. Campers will program and build with LEGO MINDSTORMS; no experience neces-sary. The camp week culminates with a demonstration of robotic creations in action and a showing of the art pro-duced by the campers’ robots.Age or grade level: Ages 10-12Date: June 13 - June 17; July 25 - July 29 Create It: Comics Campers immerse themselves in the world of comics through comic il-lustration, storytelling and structure. Students explore graphic design perspective and the tools of inking, how comic artists develop character identity and how digital and analog techniques differ in comic styling. Campers create their own comic book from start to finish, recasting the familiar as if it they led the lives of superheroes, master detectives or members of the undead hordes. Campers create flipbooks, play with light and perspective, learn about how to frame visual storytelling and learn from past photographers featured in the Anchorage Museum’s collection. Robot It: Frontier Rovers Participants explore the environ-ments of the Arctic - from glaciers to tundra, and from the Arctic Ocean to the Kobuk Valley dunes - and design and build robots to move in diverse terrain. The Learning Farm’s Summer Camp 2016

Come join the funat The Learning Farm! Ride horses, feed the pig, sheep, rabbits, chickens, goats and sheep. Bottle feed the baby calves and drive them as oxen. There are always ponies to be brushed. Learn to harness and drive a team of horses. Summer time also brings new baby chicks, and goats to the farm. Milk the goats and make cheese. Sing songs around a camp fire. Learn about organic gardening and ways to live green. What plants grow best in Alaska? Build a worm compost bin. Art instructor will lead various craft activities including wool projects from our own sheep’s wool, pottery, drawing and painting. Horse activities feature demonstrations on wilderness packing, trick riding, various horse breeds, horse care and grooming. Guests from Various animal rescue groups. Babysitter Training & ClubThe Babysitter Training program is expanded for this summer camp experience which includes training for youth who babysit or care for younger children. We start with American Red Cross training to help youth gain knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care to children and infants. CAMP K ON KENAI LAKECamp Fire’s resident camp is nestled among the spruce forests along Kenai Lake in Cooper Landing. Camp K provides the perfect environment for youth to explore the natural world around them, engage in a variety of challenging activities and form friendships that can last a lifetime. Skill: Movie special effectsVisit tropical beaches, explore a distant planet, climb to the
