Join us for our 4th annual Foglia Day Camp Luau! There will be food, games, prizes, moon bounces, and more! This is a great opportunity to meet the camp director and some of the camp staff that will be involved with camp this summer. In addition families will get to see the campgrounds and facilities that our campers will get to enjoy throughout the summer.

REGISTRATION DATES Registration begins Monday, Feb 2, 2015 and is ongoing throughout the summer. Campers must be registered by the Wednesday of the week before they plan on attending camp.

SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION All campers must hold a valid YMCA membership to receive the member rate and must remain valid until Sep 1, 2015. • To ensure space is reserved for your camper,

a $25 nonrefundable deposit is due for each week of camp registered.

• Payment is due by Wednesday the week prior to your child attending camp.

• Please register with payment at the Member Relations Desk.

• Your child's enrollment papers, medical health forms and releases must be submitted in their entirety the Wednesday before your child's first day of camp.

• If your child's paperwork is not in, they will not be able to attend camp. Please note this is for your child's safety and well-being.

• To switch or transfer camps after the Wednesday of the week prior to camp, there will be a $10 switching fee to maintain staff/camper ratios.

TRAINED STAFF Professionally trained and enthusiastic staff are the key ingredient to a positive camping experience at the Foglia YMCA. Each counselor is selected based on their skills, maturity, creativity and sensitivity to the needs of all our camp participants. All of our counselors participate in a thorough training program prior to the first camper's arrival, so you can rest assured your child's counselor will be a caring, positive, and enthusiastic role model.

SCHOLARSHIP/FEE WAIVER It is the goal of the YMCA to provide education, social and physical development services to people regardless of their ability to pay. Waiver or reduction of fees is available, subject to facility and program capacity and demonstrated need, without regard to race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, physical or mental handicap. Scholarship applications will be accepted through Apr. 15 and will be reviewed after that date.

To apply, please complete the YMCA Financial Assistance/Fee Reduction Form. Forms are available at the YMCA Member Relations Desk or online. Please return this form, along with your Federal Income Tax #1040 Form, and a letter stating your specific needs to: Kileen Smerecky, Member Experience Supervisor, 847.410.5364. Assistance is based on annual income, family size and supported documentation.

Funding is also available through the State of Illinois/Action for Children. Depending on your income, you may be required to complete this process before receiving a scholarship through the YMCA. This application and the other necessary forms are available at the YMCA or by visiting www.daycareaction.org. Please contact Debbie Siedlecki, Business Secretary, 847.410.5368 to schedule an appointment to review the AFC registration packet and assistance regarding completion of these forms. To ensure your child is able to attend the first week of camp, the Action for Children (AFC) process must be completed no later than May 1, 2015.

GUEST SPEAKERS In past summers we have welcomed many amazing speakers at Foglia YMCA Summer Day Camp. We had former Olympians Twila Majkowski who was a member of the 1976 U.S. Cross Country Skiing Team and Andy Rein who was a wrestler in the 1984 Olympics. Along with so many more great guest speakers, together they talked to the kids about believing in themselves, setting goals and achieving them.

Some of our other guest speakers included Fire Zone and the Lake Zurich Police Department, who both talked to the campers about what they do and how the campers can practice being safe in many different aspects of their day-to-day lives. We also had the privilege of welcoming Dave DiNaso and his traveling world of reptiles. The campers got to see and touch many different kinds of reptiles from all around the world. We also had a staff member's father who is a X-ray technician, and showed all the kids how to make a cast, and how to stay safe while playing different activities. We cannot possibly thank our speakers enough for coming. Make sure to check out our day camp Facebook page as summer approaches for a list of guest speakers in 2015.

CAMP INFORMATION

DROP OFF/PICK UP PROCEDURES Parents are required to sign their child in and out of camp. For your convenience, we will once again offer "curb side" arrival so that parents do not have to leave the car for drop off. For pick up, everyone must park and go to the sign out table and present a photo ID. Anyone picking up your child must be listed on the 'Authorized to pick up my child' section of the registration form. If an individual does not have a Photo ID and is not listed as an authorized pick up, we will not be able to release the child. This procedure will be strictly enforced and is for your child's protection.

INSURANCE The Foglia YMCA does not carry individual camper insurance. It is the responsibility of the campers and his or her family to provide insurance.

BILLING You will receive an invoice for the session(s) you are registered for. Payment is due on the Wednesday before your child is to attend camp. Your child will not be able to attend camp if payment is not received. Specialty Camps must be paid in full upon registration.

SUMMER CAMP

PRESCHOOL CAMP Days: Mon-Fri Ages: 3-5 Camp Hours: 9am-12:30pm & 12:30-4pm Location: Foglia YMCA Preschool Room

Preschool Camp is bigger and better than ever. Back again this year, you have the option to add an afternoon session to preschool camp. That means families have the option to participate in half day or full day preschool camp!

Creating an enjoyable first camp experience is what we are all about. Campers will be outside for playground time, camp games and songs, and will move inside for a delicious snack, creative craft, and good books. Each week we will also feature a different organized sport emphasizing the importance of stretching, teamwork and learning a new skill. Campers will once again enjoy a special lunch just like the big kids every Friday.

Children must be 3 by June 1, 2015, and be completely toilet trained. This camp takes place both indoors and outdoors, so please dress your child accordingly. If you sign up for the full day option, send your child with a swim suit. The afternoon session will include swimming 5 days a week. Also, please send your child with a lunch as a mid-morning snack will be provided daily. Remember to dress for mess -- we will get dirty!

TRADITIONAL SUMMER DAY CAMPS All camps run from 9am-4pm with free extended care hours 7-9am and 4-6pm to accommodate working parents.

Summer Day Camp is a super-lively, full-day enrichment program focused on quality, age-appropriate activities, safety, and fun! Campers will experience new discoveries, develop new skills, and make new friends along the way. Kids stay motivated and are encouraged to make good choices by exercising independent thinking.

Each week is packed with an amazing variety of activities including field trips, visits to local forest preserves, swimming daily, creating crafts, exploring through science and nature activities, participating in healthy activities and presentations, rock climbing, and much more!

LEADERS IN TRAININGGrades: Entering 9-10 Camp Hours: 9am-4pm* Location: Foglia YMCA Outdoor Pavilion

Weekly Fee: $100 Member/$125 Non-member

The Leaders in Training program is a great chance for Teens entering High School to experience a little bit of what it is like to be a summer camp counselor. While here at camp LITs will be responsible for helping out the counselors with day to day activities; responsibilities include but are not limited to helping set up games, participating in games, crafts, swimming, and other camp activities.

LITs will also have the opportunity to split off from camp activities once a week to talk about different leadership skills and traits. This year LITs will have the chance to go on some off-site field trips to participate in various team building and problem solving activities.

Our LITs must possess a good attitude and be a positive role model for our young campers. Participants in both Teen Camp and LIT programs must bring their lunch, except on Fridays when a special lunch is provided. LIT's will receive a snack in the afternoon and should also bring their swimsuit daily.

PRESCHOOL AND AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMSPreschool offeringsFoglia YMCA offers licensed preschool programs for ages 2.5 through 5. They are leveled by age. We offer a half-day options that runs from Sept.-May. For more information or a tour, please contact Mary McGlauchlin at 847-410-5369.

Before and After School OfferingsFoglia YMCA offers before and after school care for grades kindergarten through 5th grade. Bussing from District 95 schools is included with swim lessons and intramural programs. This includes before and after care as well as an extended kindergarden program for students who attend District 95 half day kindergarden. SCHOOL-AGE CHILD CARE (Grades K-6)

Foglia YMCA has offered before and after care to students grades K-6 in District 95/St. Francis de Sales for over a decade now. Before Care is located at Issac Fox Elementary and May Whitney Elementary from 6:45-8:15am. Students will be bused to their schools prior to the start of the school day. After Care is located at Issac Fox Elementary, May Whitney Elementary, Sarah Adams Elementary, Seth Paine Elementary and Spencer Loomis Elementary from 2:50-6:30pm and at St. Francis from 2:15-6:30pm.

AMERICAN RED CROSS BABYSITTING Dates: Jun 15-19 Ages: 11-16 Camp Hours: 10am-12pm Location: Foglia YMCA

Are you constantly being asked to babysit or watch your younger siblings when your parents are gone? This camp is for anyone who is looking to make some money during the summer or school year babysitting. We will provide you with the necessary skills needed to give safe care for infants and children while babysitting including handling misbehavior, recognizing an emergency, and identifying safety related problems and resolution.


SURVIVING SIX FLAGS Dates: Jun 15-19 Ages: 10-14 Camp Hours: 9am-4pm* Location: Foglia YMCA

This camp is for the thrill seeker, adrenaline junkie! We will be visiting Six Flags Great America everyday for the entire week! Some days will be dedicated to the theme park portion of Six Flags while others we will be at Hurricane Harbor. Each participant in this camp will receive a season pass to use for the week and will be theirs to keep after the camp is over!

Do you love being outdoors and want to learn more about how to survive in the wilderness? Then join us for Man vs. Wild where we will enjoy the many different things nature has to offer. JUNIOR LIFEGUARD TRAINING Dates: Jun 22-26 Ages: 11-14 Camp Hours: 10am-12pm Location: Foglia YMCA

In this specialty camp participants will go through similar training that our lifeguards go through. They will learn and practice the skills needed to be a lifeguard. If you are someone who loves to swim and is interested in seeing what it takes to be a lifeguard this camp is for you. All participants will receive a certificate of completion upon finishing this camp.


BASKETBALL Dates: Jun 22-26 Ages: 6-8, Camp Hours: 9-10am Ages: 9-12, Camp Hours: 10:30am-12:30pm Location: Foglia YMCA Gymnasium

For all the kids out there that want to be the next Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, or Candace Parker, come join us for Basketball Camp. We'll focus on the basics like dribbling, passing and shooting, but also get into more advanced aspects of the game such as setting screens, teamwork and building our skills to become like our favorite players.

Every day we will go either to a shelter, zoo, or pet store and not only learn about animals and help out, but also see behind the scenes on how to best take care of them, and learn exactly what it takes to be a pet owner. Shelters will deal mostly with dogs and cats, but we will also be able to see and learn about reptiles, fish, and other fun and friendly creatures. Sign up today!

Start your youngster off on a lifelong journey of running, jumping and tumbling. We'll get out all of the mats and tumbling apparatus you can handle for a lot of fun. What's more American than baseball? If you dream of one day playing under the lights or just love the game, grab your mitt and let's PLAY BALL! You will be working on various skills such as hitting, throwing, fielding, base running, etc. This camp is not just drills, we will be playing various games as well to improve our skills. So sign up now and you'll be hitting, throwing and fielding just like the pros in no time! We will use the fields at the Hawthorn Woods Community Park and bus the kids to and from.


WACKY WATER PARKS Dates: Jun 29-Jul 3 & Jul 27-31 & Aug 10-14 Ages: 8-14 Camp Hours: 9am-4pm (full day) Location: Foglia YMCA

Water Park Camp is back and better than ever! Now an all day camp so you have more time to enjoy the fun in the sun! Kids, come join us and have fun with your friends all day and, parents, take a break and let our trained aquatic and child care staff watch and make sure your children are having fun. This camp will feature a different water park every day so bring a friend and let's head out to the water park! Children must be able to swim and should come to the YMCA already in their bathing suits.

ILLUSTRATED BY ME Dates: Jul 6-10 Ages: 3-5 Camp Hours: 12:30-1:30pm Location: Foglia YMCA

This camp will feature a different author every day as we recreate some of our favorite illustrations from their books. We will make pictures just like authors such as Dr. Seuss, Leo Lionni, and Robert Sabuda. If you love to color and create, make it illustrated by me!


HORSEBACK RIDING Dates: Jul 6-10 Ages: 9-14 Times: 1-4pm Location: TBD

We will bus the kids over to a nearby horse stable for the entire week as they learn all the basics of the horse. How to clean, feed, and clean up after them of course. They will also learn the basics of riding the horse as well. All trained by certified horse trainers.

Rates: $200 with summer camp, $250 for member, $300 for Non-member

BUILD-A-FLOAT Dates: Jul 6-10 Ages: 9-14 Times: 1-4pm Location: Foglia YMCA

This camp will create a float that will be built at the Foglia YMCA, and the kids will design the theme. Then with the help of the counselors, they will put it together and display their float in the Alpine Days parade in Lake Zurich. Come create and build a float for the parade and make new friends too!

Rates: $50 with summer camp, $75 Member/$100 Non-member

BOWLING Dates: Jul 6-10 Ages: 6-12 Camp Hours: 10am-12pm Location: Foglia YMCA

Join us in the ever-popular sport that is bowling. Learn the proper techniques and skills or just come for a good time. This camp is for all ages and ability levels and right up your alley. It's the game that allows you to eat food, have a good time, and compete against friends. Bring a friend or 10 and let the 'good times roll'!

Fees: $80 with your week of Summer Camp, $130 Member/ $170 Non-member

WINDY CITY TOUR Dates: Jul 6-10 & Aug 3-7 Ages: 10-14 Camp Hours: 9am-4pm Location: Foglia YMCA

Have you ever wanted to see the great city of Chicago and spend a week visiting all that it has to offer? We will spend an entire week driving and taking the train downtown to see places such as Millennium Park, several museums, and all the best the Windy City has to offer! This camp is for those who love being downtown and learning new things but don't want to fill out worksheets or do homework like field trips at school. Come take a ride and enjoy the city limits!

HOT SHOTS SOCCER Dates: Jul 13-17 Ages: 3-5 Camp Hours: 12:30-1:30pm Location: Foglia YMCA

This is a great camp for those who have learned a bit about soccer as well as those whom have never kicked a ball. Children will learn soccer skills through drills, games and scrimmaging. Be sure to send your child with gym shoes and a water bottle.


TENNIS Dates: Jul 13-17 Ages: 6-8, Camp Hours: 12:30-1:30pm Ages: 9-12, Camp Hours: 2-3pm Location: Meet at Foglia YMCA

This camp is always jam-packed so register early. Tennis camp will help you improve your technique, prepare you for tennis matches in the future or simply allow you to have a better understanding of the sport and help you have fun with a pick-up game. Having fun, learning and improving skills are all emphasized for a positive tennis experience. We will use the Hawthorn Woods Community Park Courts and bus to and from.


LEGO MANIA Dates: Jul 13-17 Ages: 6-9 Times: 10am-12pm Location: Foglia YMCA

The kids will get to pick out a few lego sets at the store the first day of camp, and will spend the week working on finishing building together. We will visit the Lego store as well to take a tour of the facility. Come join us for the building of a lifetime.

GOOD FOOD, HEALTHY FOODS Dates: Jul 13-17 Ages: 7-13 Camp Hours: 2-4pm Location: Foglia YMCA

There has never been a better time to eat and feel great! This revamped camp will show participants how to cook simple, delicious healthy snacks and meals that you can easily cook at home! We will use a griddle, toaster oven, blender, and other small household food makers that are simple to use. This camp takes a hands-on approach to providing you with a foundation to get and stay fit for the rest of your life. Come see how being healthy can be fun!

SPORTS OF ALL SORTS Dates: Jul 13-17 Ages: 8-13 Camp Hours: 9am-4pm* Location: Foglia YMCA

Do you eat, sleep and breathe sports? If you just can't seem to get enough sports action, this camp is for you. Flag football, soccer, softball, basketball, dodge ball, and just about every other sport or variation you can think of will be featured in this camp. We will also have swimming, so bring your bathing suit too. We will probably even go bowling and mini golfing on the Y-bus off site. Remember to bring that sack lunch and water bottle because we'll be having fun all day!

GREAT OUTDOORS Dates: Jul 20-24 Ages: 3-5 Camp Hours: 12:30-1:30pm Location: Foglia YMCA

Do you wish your kids would watch less TV or play on the computer just a little less frequently? Let us help ease participants outside as we see that there is so much more to this world than what you can find in your living room. Join us to experience the great outdoors as we'll learn together all about bugs and plants, and discover all the best that nature has to offer.


MYTH BUSTERS Dates: Jul 20-24 Ages: 6-11 Camp Hours: 10am-12pm Location: Foglia YMCA

This exciting improved camp combines the best parts of several past camps. We will learn about rockets, space, and exploring the amazing scientific world around us. If you love science, experiments, or you just want to be your own mad scientist, come join us and let's see what this science thing is all about!


MINI-GOLF Dates: Jul 20-24 Ages: 7-14 Camp Hours: 1-4pm Location: Meet at Foglia YMCA

You asked for it, and now it's back again and better than ever. You drive past them and they're always packed: it's mini-golf. With hundreds and hundreds of courses across America, we'll take 5 days to dedicate ourselves to various locations in the area. Sign up early and try not to let that crazy windmill get ya.

WATER ADVENTURES Dates: Jul 20-24 Ages: 6-9 Camp Hours: 10am-11:30pm Location: Foglia YMCA

Water Adventures Camp is once again a combination of several successful camps we've had in the past. We will learn several water games, hop off the diving board, and swim past anything that comes near us. Bring your mask and fins, and we'll teach you how to dive to the depths in search of treasures, clear your mask while underwater, and finally be able to use those snorkels and fins on vacation instead of staying on the shore.


PEE-WEE BASKETBALL Dates: Jul 27-31 Ages: 3-5 Camp Hours: 12:30-1:30pm Location: Foglia YMCA

Your child will learn the fundamentals of basketball through fun drills, scrimmages and other games. Be sure to send them with their gym shoes and a water bottle. Time to shoot and score!


DARLIN' DIVAS Dates: Jul 27-31 Ages: 6-10 Camp Hours: 2-4pm Location: Foglia YMCA

Boys may be boys, but girls just wanna have fun. For us girls that want to embrace our feminine side and learn about hair, manicures, and caring for our skin. It's like having our very own spa right here at the Foglia YMCA. We will be promoting health of body, mind, and spirit! Participants in the camp will get to participate in Foglia IDOL our annual Day Camp talent show!

We guys are very simple in life. We enjoy our sports, our games, and we don't want to waste time with crafts or singing songs and holding hands. Is your child ready to learn all the fun of being fit? Does he or she want to take it to the next level in their specific sport? Then this is the class for them. They will learn different exercises and classes that will help them perform even better at their favorite sport. Come get fit and have fun!

MY TOWN Dates: Aug 3-7 Ages: 3-5 Camp Hours: 12:30-1:30pm Location: Foglia YMCA

Back for a third straight year, this camp is a favorite among the preschool campers. We will take the preschoolers on an adventure to explore their town through various field trips. Every day will be a new adventure; field trips range from the Fire Department to downtown Lake Zurich.


ART EXPLORATIONS Dates: Aug 3-7 Ages: 6-9 Times: 9-10amAges: 10-13 Times: 10:30-12:30pm Location: Foglia YMCA

This camp is for those kids that enjoy art, or want to learn the basics of drawing. Using age-appropriate activities, camp will allow students to experiment with themes that will build their skills, and use their creative imagination.

Football is one of America's favorite pastimes. If you like playing it, watching it on TV, or just being around it in general, come join us for flag football. It's led by knowledgeable instructors who know the game well and they can show you there's much more to football than just the tackling. This camp will undoubtedly give you a better understanding of the game and allow everyone to enjoy this great sport without the contact.


FIELD TRIP MADNESS Dates: Aug 3-7 Ages: 9-14 Camp Hours: 1-4pm Location: Foglia YMCA

This camp is exactly what it sounds like. We will be going on field trips everyday to various locations in the area. Previous field trip locations have included mini golf, chocolate factory, Pizza place, etc. If you are tired of sitting at home and doing the same old stuff everyday this is the camp for you!

There’s nothing better than getting in the water on a hot summer day! Make sure your child is comfortable in the water and even learn some water safety skills. Bring your suit, your towel, goggles and your smile!

Big shows for big kids! Young actors will learn the basics of acting while developing their skills and confidence. They will play acting games, learn lines, and actually perform a play on Friday!

Soccer stars who like running around and kicking a ball in the net will love our Soccer Camp. To prepare you for the fall season or to help you improve your skills, our staff is ready to show you proper techniques of passing, shooting, headers and, as always, the importance of sportsmanship and hustle.

It's time to experience all that nature has to offer. We will visit many different forest preserves throughout the area and learn about the trees, animals, fish, etc. Come join us and experience why nature is so neat!

Your preschoolers will love this camp, where they can learn about healthy snacks and meals, and actually create them! We will cover everything from greens to edible art. Bring your apron and your appetite. Please inform us immediately of any food allergies!

DODGEBALL CAMP Dates: Aug 17-21 Ages: 8-13 Camp Hours: 2-4pm Location: Foglia YMCA

Finally the game that has been a favorite in day camp for many years has its own specialty camp!! This specialty camp will be all dodgeball all the time. We will play the classic game types such as prison ball, medic dodgeball, 4 team dodgeball, along with many new versions you might not have tried before. If you can't get enough dodgeball then this is the camp for you!

ROCKWALL CLIMBING CAMP Dates: Aug 17-21 Ages: 7-12 Camp Hours: 9am-12pm Location: Foglia YMCA

Some things are just meant to be climbed. Join our Adventure staff and learn the techniques of rock climbing and knot tying or improve already established skills. The confidence when you make it to the top of the wall and knowing what you've just accomplished is terrific. We may even use some of the other adventure obstacles that will really bring you to new heights. This is also a great alternative to more popular sports and activities and a chance to do something you can't do many other places.


LACROSSE CAMP Dates: Aug 17-21 Ages: 8-14 Camp Hours: 1-3pm Location: Foglia YMCA

Back due to popular demand we have the sport that is quickly becoming a fan favorite; lacrosse. Participants will once again be coached by current and former Lake Zurich and College Lacrosse players. The rules and fundamentals will be taught followed by more advanced skills, positioning and simulated game play. Equipment is available if needed and all you have to bring is a mouth guard and plenty of energy. See you on the fields!

YMCA Camp DuncanSince 1921, Camp Duncan has provided safe, quality camping programs for boys and girls ages seven to 15 and Teen Adventure Camps for 15 to 17 year olds. All activities are geared to the developmental level of the campers. Camp Duncan is a co-ed, summer resident camp located near Fox Lake, Illinois, on 278 acres.

YMCA Camp MacLeanCamp MacLean is located just two miles east of Burlington, Wisconsin, just 20 minutes from Lake Geneva, on 247 acres of woods and grassland property. The camp offers fun and challenging activities such as swimming, climbing, boating, kayaking, archery, hiking, and much more. We also leave room for plenty of traditional programs, including sing-alongs, campfi res and campouts.

YMCA Camp PinewoodTraditional but up-to-date, Camp Pinewood features 16 cabins on a private, spring-fed lake, with every activity from sailing to horseback riding. YMCA Family Camp NawakwaFamily Camp Nawakwa offers a unique experience- an opportunity to bring together whole families, not just children, through camping. The camp sits on 180 acres of pristine forest lands, and includes wetlands and lakes with abundant wildlife. The camp is nestled in Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin, which is home to the Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians.

YMCA Camp IndependenceCamp Independence is a special place for campers age seven and up with spina bifi da and other neurological disabilities. At camp kids become a community as they learn both how to be more independent and how to contribute to a group. At camp, we teach self-reliance, a love for nature, and the development of attitudes and practices that build character.
