I hope you all had a Great summer and are ready for a fabulous Fall (my favourite time of year). Soon the boats will be out of the water and we can focus on land events. There will be at least one event every month throughout the fall and winter months so keep an eye out in the log and events calendar for dates and times. Come on out and enjoy the company of your fellow members.

We, your Bridge, are trying desperately to form a full slate of officers and directors for next year. We need members to step up, so if you are interested in any position and think this club is worth keeping please contact any of the Executives for info. tks

Sept. has come and gone and fall has officially arrived. Now we have to pull our boats and get them ready for the long winter nap. It is always a sad day when the boat comes out of the wa-ter. Now we can turn our attention to inside events like the Oktoberfest dinner coming on Oct. 12. Don’t forget that our club members have been invited to join Park Haven on their annual fall crawl on Oct.19. Contact Al Werstien for more info. 519-971 -6017.

Our boat club runs on volunteers. Without volunteers our club will wither and die. We cannot have the same people doing all the work all time. Without you helping our club we cannot sur-vive. I have always said that this is your club get involved. Well now you have the opportunity to stand up and volunteer. We have approx. 180 members, surely there is someone who will stand up and volunteer to help this club by joining the Board of Directors.

As Fall is upon us and the boating season is winding down don’t forget about all the events the Club has planned. Our Club is a year round operation and we need all our members support to be successful. Coming in October, we have Octoberfeast on Oct 12th. The Commodore’s Ball in November and several other events throughout the fall and winter. Keep an eye open for notifi-cations on Facebook or Log on to the SPBC events calendar on the website to check out what’s happening at the Club. This is always a great way to keep in touch with members and friends through out the non-boating season. Looking forward to seeing everyone around the Club.

Seems like we were just wishing the rain would stop in the spring and now I’m making arrange-ments for winter storage…….another great boating season is winding down. Let’s enjoy the last few weeks of boating left! Looking forward to seeing you all throughout the winter at the many events coming up! Make sure you check the Clubhouse bulletin board and your monthly Log for AYC event flyers for upcoming club events you might be interested in attending.

Just because boating season is nearing a close, don’t forget that Sun Parlour Boat Club con-tinues to host many social events in the fall and winter! Don’t miss the Octoberfest Sausage and Sauerkraut Dinner on Saturday October 12, 2019 at the clubhouse ……stay tuned to your monthly logs and the SPBC Facebook page for updates on event details throughout the winter. I hope you continue to find the event notices and reminders helpful. Any suggestions are wel-come. Many thanks for supporting your club!

This vendor is authorized to work at Holiday Harbour

One of the last remaining responsibilities of this position was to put on a spaghetti dinner for IOBG with the proceeds to be donated to Hospice. This being completed and being quite successful, will donate $600 from SPBC. The basis of its success lies in the fact that there were a good number of non members who attended. Thankfully they made up the difference for such a worthy cause.

My final duty is to head up the Ball Committee in preparation for the Commodore’s Ball honouring Commodore Neil and Lady Pat, to be held in November. I’ve been working diligently with a good group of people and my main driving force, P/C Izzie. By now you will have received your invite to attend and please don’t hesitate to respond. It is not a boring night. The drinks are all free. The food is excellent in a super setting. There is a good band and there are pre-glow and after-glow rooms with more free drinks and food and a great chance to socialize with your club members and a lot of great people from brother clubs from the States. It’s the night, or, for some, the weekend of the year. Don’t be shy, kick that tv aside for a night and you will really enjoy our premier event.

Nothing has changed regarding the membership count since the last meeting... 95 memberships with 13 non-voting.

We are looking at revisiting the idea of handing out business cards to prospective new members. These cards will list the perks of being a Sun Parlour member, along with contact info to become a member. P/C Rick Ingalls had created a business card a while ago. It looks very professional with all the info we require, so I think I will follow the lines of it. Why reinvent the wheel??
