society. It salutes the beauty of their faithfulness, sacrifice and joy in daily, married life.

A Married Couples Prayer

“Father, we thank you for your tremendous gift of the Sacrament of Marriage.

Help us to witness to its glory by a life of growing intimacy. Teach us the beauty of

forgiveness so we may become more and more One in Heart, Mind and Body.

Strengthen our communication and help us become living signs of your love.

Make us grow more in love with the Church so we may renew the Body of Christ.

Make us a sign of unity in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Brother. Amen.”

LENTEN CONFESSIONS

LENTEN REGULATIONS FOR CATHOLICS • Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of fast and abstinence. The Fridays of Lent are days of abstinence.

• The obligation of abstinence (refraining from eating meat) begins at the age of 14. The law of fasting (limiting oneself to one full meal and two lighter meals) obligates all between the ages of 18-59. No one should consider this obligation lightly.

• Those individuals who have a medical condition in which fasting may be considered harmful are not obligated to fast, but should perform some other act of penance or charity.

• Pastors and parents are to see to it that minors, though not bound by law of fast and abstinence, are educated in the authentic sense of penance and encouraged to do acts of penance or charity.

• All members of the Christian Faithful are encouraged to do acts of penance and charity during the Lenten season beyond what is prescribed by the Law.

• As a general rule, a request for a dispensation from the obligation of abstinence on Fridays of Lent will not be considered unless some serious reason is present. The attendance of social events, banquets, wedding rehearsals or receptions are not considered sufficient reason to request a dispensation.

NEW SATURDAY CONFESSION SCHEDULE BEGINS IN FEBRUARY The Sacrament of Reconciliation (confession) will now be held once a month at each worship site rather than weekly.

Confessions will be held every month on Saturdays from 11:00 am to 11:30 am at each worship site by the following schedule:

St. Ann - 1st Saturday of each Month — February 6, March 6, April 3 (no confessions/Holy Week), confessions resume at St. Ann on May 1st etc. St. Hugh - 2nd Saturday of each Month — February 13, March 13, April 10, May 8, etc. St. Ignatius - 3rd Saturday of each Month— February 20, March 20, April 17, May 15, etc. St. Marcellus - 4th Saturday of each Month — February 27, March 27, April 24, May 22, etc.

There will be no confessions on the occasional 5th Saturday of the Month.

See LENTEN CONFESSIONS schedule above for more opportunities for the Sacrament of Reconciliation during Lent.
