Reports (Preschool 4) will be distributed. December 8: Breakfast with Santa – 9:00am – 11:00am in Ferrante Hall December 9: Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary December 10-12: Christmas Shoppe – A fundraiser for the Class of 2020 December 11: Spirit Wear Out of Uniform Day December 17: Notre Dame High School Madrigal and Band Performance – 9:30am December 19: Students’ Christmas Parties will be provided by the Room Parent beginning after
lunch. This is a Red/Green Out of Uniform Day for the students, the cost is FREE. Preschool parties will be on a different schedule – details will follow. December 20:9:45am Tableau Prayer Service – Parents are welcome. Full Day – EDP IS OPEN School will resume on 1/2/2020! December 21 – January 1: SCHOOL CLOSED January 2: CLASSES RESUME January 15: Club Photos January 17: 7th & 8th Grade Dance January 20: No School – Martin Luther King, Jr. Day 9am – 3pm Parent Teacher Conferences January 21: Monday Schedule for Grades K-8 January 24: Progress Reports (K-2)
January 26: Catholic Schools Week Liturgy @ 12:00 noon Open House @ 1:30-3:30pm Book Fair – All Week January 27: Grandparents Day January 28: Winter Concert – 7pm – Students in Grades 1-4 and the SGGA Choir will perform. January 29: Teacher Appreciation Day January 30: Spirit Day – The Blue Team versus the White Team! Students in Grades Preschool,
K, 1, 2, 3, and 4 will be in the gym for Spirit Day events from 8:30am – 11:00am while Grades 5, 6, 7, and 8 will be in the gym from 11:45pm – 2:00pm.
NEWS INCLEMENT WEATHER REMINDERS – Please be sure the persons listed for emergency contact are aware they ARE your emergency contact and that their phone numbers are accurate and up-to-date here in the office. In the event of a weather closing the School Messenger system will be activated and will provide basic information. We will not broadcast emergency closings on the radio or the television since School Messenger will notify everyone. Whenever any of our feeder townships close or delay opening their schools, this affects our students who are transported by them, i.e. if Robbinsville Township (East Windsor, Upper Freehold, etc.) is closed and Hamilton Township is open, our school will be open. However, Robbinsville Township (East Windsor, Upper Freehold, etc.) students will have no bus transportation to or from SGGA. It would be up to the parents to provide transportation. Should a 90-minute delayed opening occur on a half day, we will switch from a 12:30 p.m. dismissal to a regular 2:30 p.m. dismissal. There will be no AM ONLY Preschool classes if there is a delayed opening. In the event of an EARLY DISMISSAL, School Messenger will be activated and there will be NO EXTENDED DAY PROGRAM (EDP). October 2019 RECOGNITION: Congratulations to Nicole Catalfomo in 4B for winning a gift certificate to Massimo’s Restaurant. A drawing was held at the end of the month with the names of all students who had been recognized by a teacher or staff member for demonstrating exemplary adherence to our school mission through words or deeds. We thank the Mazzella Family for donating the gift certificates and we commend all of our students who are recognized each month.
November 27, 2019 Dear St. Gregory the Great Academy Families, We are truly blessed to have teachers who are so dedicated in guiding our children through spiritual and educational excellence. As we prepare for Advent and the Christmas Season, we wish to acknowledge those special people in our lives who spend countless hours with our children by presenting them with a Christmas gift. For over ten years, the PTA has invited Academy families to participate in a voluntary monetary donation that is used to purchase Christmas gifts for our teachers and teacher assistants. The monetary gift has been well received and greatly appreciated by each of our teachers and teacher assistants since its inception. In lieu of buying countless teacher and teacher assistant gifts, we ask you to consider contributing to this much-appreciated gift for the extraordinary teachers of St. Gregory the Great Academy. Your contributions will be strictly CONFIDENTIAL and are solely at your discretion. The gift is given on behalf of the families of St. Gregory the Great Academy. Please address your voluntary donation to “Bursar” Attn: Christmas Contribution c/o Main Office. All checks should be payable to “St. Gregory the Great Academy” and received no later than Friday December 13, 2018. BINGO WORKERS NEEDED!
Help is needed – please consider joining a Bingo Team!
Bingo is held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in the
St. Gregory the Great Parish Center
All proceeds from the Tuesday and Thursday Bingo go directly to the Academy.
It is important that we have plenty of workers to help us staff this fund raiser.
We are in desperate need of Bingo Workers who can commit to working every month
or every other month.
Interested in helping?? There are THREE ways to join:
Option 1 - A monthly commitment on either Tuesday or Thursday Evening - you would
be assigned a team, etc 1st Tuesday – 2nd Tuesday etc. same for Thursday.
(4 points per night) - Bingo hours are 5:30 pm until 10:15 pm
Option 2 - A Bingo Buddy - You would only be required to work every other month.
You would share the yearly responsibility with your Bingo Buddy.
You still receive 4 points per night,
but, it is a 6 month not a 12 month commitment, but is a yearlong commitment.
Option 3 – Single Bingo Buddy – You would be required to work every other month.
You would commit to either working every even month of the year or every odd month
of the year. You would not be able to switch.
You still receive 4 points per night,
but, it is a 6 month not a 12 month commitment, but is a yearlong commitment.
Please keep in mind, Bingo is a 12 month commitment (either by yourself or with your
buddy) – if you miss 3 or more Bingos in a year, you will no longer be considered a
bingo worker. Working Bingo is NOT a “drop-in” volunteer service – no one is allowed to show up at any Bingo because they need a few extra points – you must be
assigned to a team. If you cannot work your scheduled Bingo night, it is important that you contact your MIC
to let him/her know why you cannot attend.
