Identification of Subject: Name of Subject : Biomedical Imaging Code of Subject : SKS :4 Semester :6 Study Program : Biomedical Engineering (BME) Lecturer : Zahrina Mardina, ST., M.Sc. 2. Competency In this subject students will learn various concepts relevant to medical imaging. Various fundamentals that were given in the 1st five semesters will be utilzed in this course and will be applied to various modes of imaging that are currently available in the medical field. The course will prepare the students to become more knowledgeable in the field of medical imaging along with the systems and biophysics as well as safety that are related to it. 3. Description of Subject: Various topics in medical imaging will be covered in this course starting with the basics of radiations and imaging, to diagnostic radiology such as theuse of X-ray and radiography, mammography, Fluoroscopy. This is then followed by the basic of computed tommography and its further discussion in Magnetic resonance basics, Magnetic resonance imaging, As well as ultrasound and Nuclear imaging/emission tommography such as PET scan. 4. Learning Approach Approach : Expository, inquiry, collaborative Method : Lecture presentation, Focus group discussion Student Task : Appraisal, group presentation about biomaterial innovation Media : Power Point presentation, print out of journals
