The Superintending Engineer - I Electricity Department, Puducherry resewe, the

right to reject any or all tenden, llWtlfd any portion of the order to ar,y one Tenderer or more

Tenderer irrespective of the rates being equal OT not, and at his discretions increase or decrease

the quantity wf>JJe ordering and during the period ot conlrad alter ordering on any of orders or all

1.3 Earnest lfoney Deposit

The Tender must pay Earnest Money Deposit of ~ 7,0fX¥- (Rupees Seven

Thousand~) either in cash or by a Demand Draft on any Scheduled Bank or State Bank of

India, drawn in IEwour of the Drawing and Disbursing Offbr/EHV, Elactriclty Doparlmont -

805 001 payable at the State Bank of Inda, Puducherry and the demand draft should be attached

to the tender.

Cash, Cheque of Bank Guarantee should not be sent and deposit made by Cheque will on

The Earnest Money Deposit will be refunded to the unsuccessful tendels

irrmediately after the tender has been fnalized and on receipt of spp/iGBtion from them along with

advance stamped receipt for the amount

1.4 Securily Daposit

(a) When a tender is to be accepted the Tenderer whoae tender is under

consideration, on being issued provisional worlc order to him by Executive EngineerlfHV,

Eledricity Department, Puducherry of acceptance of that tender shall make serurity in cash at this

office or by Demand Dnlft drawn in favour of MDrawing and Disbursing Offlcet!EHV, Electricity

Deparlment - 805 001 and Payable at Puducheny obtained from Nationslized Banks for the

periods derided a, the department to makeup the Security Deposit which along with EMD

amounting to 7.5% of the cost of the work order within a week from the date of inlimation under

consideration of order. Failure to make up the Security Deposit as defned above may entail to

forfeilure of the Earnest Money Deposit.

(b) The security depoti.f with the Earnest Mmey shall be retained as Security Deposit for

the due fulfillment ol the conlrad. The Security Deposit and Earnest Money Deposit made by the

contractor will nd beaT any interest. Alter the deposit of Security deposit, a worl< order Ml be

placed on the contn,ctpr which should be duJe/ acknowledged. Failure to Bcknowledge the receipt

of order I non commencing of work • per work order may entail to forleme of the total Security

Deposit and cancellation of the work order Mlhout prejudice to the right of the department to

recover the losses incurred in this regard.

(c) If the department issued Provisional Mri Order to the successful bidder within the

validity period is ~ed to be placed order wilh the finn. The firm should furnish Security Deposit

amount ,.thin the date specif,ed in the provisional order laifng which the provisional worlc order

shall be liable for cancellafion at the risk and expenses of the 6rm.

(d) On canplele fulfiJlment of the contracl by the Conln,dor to the sstiafaction of the

Department, the Security Deposit and Esmest Money paid by the Tenderer shsl be returned to

him after ~ gusrr,r'llefJ perioc! within a reasonable lime after deduding the amount if any, due to

the department on receipt of request from the contiactor with advance stamped receipt •

1.6 The Contractor should quote in figures as well• in words the rate and amount

tendered by them. The amount for each item should be worked out and the requisite tda/s given.

2.0 Validity of the tMder. Tenders· shotikfbe ··valid for accepmnce for a period of at

least 120 (One Hundred and Twenty) days from the date of opening.

Rupees should precede and the word (paise) should also be written at the end. Unless the rate is

2.5 The President of. lmia does not bind himself to accept the lowest or any tender

shall be bound to perform the same at the T&le quoted.

modification, in the terms and condilions of the tender which ·are not acceptable to the

Department, then the Government shall without prejudice to any other right of remed-j, b eat liberty

2.8 Rates quoted by the conlraclm in item rate tender in figures and WOids shall be

accurately 6/led in so thst there is no discrepancy in the rates written in 6gures and words,

2.9 If the amount of an item is not _worked ~ by ftie contractor or it does not

3.0 Where the rate quoted by the contTactor in 6gures and in words tally but the

GENERAL TERMS AND COHDIDONS

1). Scope: This secton COVEn the general tenns and condition, of this contract for the follf/Ning

WOl'k.s:

(/) Destringing of the existing "Leopard" ACSR conductor including removing the strain disc mutator in the tension towers and straining of ·panther" ACSR' conductor including ·providing ot 120 KN oomposffe long rod insulators in place of the tenaion string in the tension towers with corona rings at bath ends from location 1to 9 of 110 KV Sedarapet - Kurumbapet feeder ofroute length of 1.5 Kms

iJ) V'isit of site by contractor: The tenderer is advised to visit the site to acquaint himseH with the

site conditions, approaches before submitting his tender.

' iii) TMder clarfflcation; The tenderer shall note that if any clarilicatiOl'l8 regarding specificationa,

condition of contract, schedule of quantities or scope of wo,lc are required, he should contsct the

Office of the Executive Engineer/EHV, Electricity Department, Puducheny- 605 001. No claim on

account if Bn'/ ambiguity in any respect will be enterlained.

iv) Comparisons of the biddings: The tenderer shall oHer their bidding in the prescribed bidding

schedule - Ill only attached with this tender for all the activities mentioned therein.

V) Insurance; This is a WOl'k. co,11rscfs. The oonbactor shall take an open .policy for the 'NOlk.

Insurance to cover the risks by way of damages to property or person in the execution of the

contract work including third party liability.

The conlrador shall fully indemnify this department against Joss to materials issued to

him by the department for this worl< by taking an indemnity bond in the loon acceptance to

department. The Engineer in charge shall not be responsible for any damages or compensation

payable by Jaw in consequence of any accident to worlc man or athen in the employment of the

conlrador.

Guarantae:

The contracto, shall wammt that the worlc is CBJried out in accordance with the

specification. The equipment, slructure etc supplied wHI be free from defects in materials and

worl<lnanship. The contrador shaH fumiBh performance guarantee for a period of twenty - four

months from the date of completion and acceptance of entire work. The whole installation or any

part there of found defective during the gUST9ntee period shall be replacedlreptvred by the

contractor at free of charges as decided by the department.

VV Completion P!rlod; The time allowed for completion for all the ~ covered under this

contract shaH be thirty days after the date of receipt of wOlk order to commence this worlc. The

period includes monsoon. Extension of time will be considered based on the site condition and

problems faced at the time of obtaining line clear from the Department, necessary requisition for

extension of time should be produced well in advance.

VII) Line Clear: The bidder shall be fully responsible for safety human and equipment during

the working under his jurisdiclion. He shall also be responsible for obtaining shutdown permission if

required to work from the Engineer in charge. Since 110 KV Kurumbapet- Sedarapet feeder is in

energized condition, the line clear on the said feeders will be arranged by the department on

receipt of necessary request from your end. Similarly 22 KV feeders and LT6nes are also passing

below the said EHV feeders, which may cause hindrance during paying out and rough sagging of

the conductor, line clear on the said 22 KV feedels and LT lines will also be arranged by the

department on receipt of necessa,y request from your end. Due to unforeseen/urgency conditions,

if the line clear is required to be returned by the departmental officials at any stage of work on

either 110 KV or 22 KV feeders, the work should be stopped immediately and the line shall be kept

ready for charging and the line clear should be retuned alter clearing all the men and materials

employed in the worl< ..,. ,F<--;-

Viii) Psrment 100o--' payment shall be made after completion of the worl< in all respect a& per the

acfusl and on receipt of invoices in valid triplicate. Income tax, building and other construction a...
