even some moons, have got an atmosphere,

The atmosphere makes the Earth,s climate moderate and protects the planet from the effects of direct sun radiation.

The atmosphere of our home planet is made up of three primary gases. These gases are oxygen 21%, nitrogen 78%, and argon 0.8 %. In additiion to these three gases thre are many other gases in the atmosphere in small amounts. Additionally there are small particles floating in the atmosphere such as dust, water, and pollen.

The first layer of the atmosphere is made out of the gases that we breath everyday. This layer is called the troposphere. The troposphere is the layer that we live in.

The next layer of our atmosphere is called the stratosphere. Above the stratosphere lies the mesosphere, followed by the thermosphere and finally the exosphere. The mesosphere and thermosphere are often referred to together as the ionosphere because they reflect the ionized energy of the Sun.

Carbon dioxide has the unique characteristic of absorbing infrared radiation, or the heat sent to the Earth by the Sun. This helps to keep the lower atmosphere warm enough for life to exist.When you breath out, your body releases small amounts of carbon dioxide.
