It is our greatest asset as well as our greatest liability because to a degree, it controls our lives. Our actions and our reactions to all of the events of our lives are based largely on our attitude. Our attitude (mindset) very often determines which way we go when we come to a fork in the road as we travel down the pathway of life. Knowing that our attitude (mindset) springs from our heart, it is no wonder that Solomon tells us to keep our hearts with all dili- gence (Proverbs 4:23). We know that what comes out of our hearts depends on what we put into our hearts (Phil. 4:8; Luke 6:45). Our heart, our mind, is the source of our thoughts, intents and purposes, hence the need to guard it diligently. We are all walking testimonies as to the need for self control and we all can testify as to the difficulty of doing so; but, diligence is the key. We are constantly bombarded with the pressure to say, think or do things contrary to Gods will. The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life are alive and active today as much as they were in the Garden of Eden (I John 2:15-17). Be diligent (Hebrews 11:6)! If our thinking is going to be pure, if we are going to be successful in keeping our hearts as they should, then our lives must ever be lived by the premise, Not my will God but yours.

The Attitude of the Heart

“As he thinketh in his heart, so is he:” Proverbs 23:7. The word

“attitude” is defined as our feelings toward something, our disposition. It

is our greatest asset as well as our greatest liability because to a degree, it

controls our lives. Our actions and our reactions to all of the events of our

lives are based largely on our attitude. Our attitude (mindset) very

often determines which way we go when we come to a fork in the road as

we travel down the pathway of life.

Knowing that our attitude (mindset) springs from our heart, it

is no wonder that Solomon tells us to keep our hearts with all dili-

gence (Proverbs 4:23). We know that what comes out of our hear ts

depends on what we put into our hearts (Phil. 4:8; Luke 6:45). Our heart,

our mind, is the source of our thoughts, intents and purposes, hence the

need to guard it diligently. We are all walking testimonies as to the need

for self control and we all can testify as to the difficulty of doing so; but,

diligence is the key. We are constantly bombarded with the pressure to

say, think or do things contrary to God’s will. The lust of the flesh, the

lust of the eyes, and the pride of life are alive and active today as much as

they were in the Garden of Eden (I John 2:15-17). Be diligent (Hebrews

11:6)!

If our thinking is going to be pure, if we are going to be successful

in keeping our hearts as they should, then our lives must ever be lived by

the premise, “Not my will God but yours.”

Did You Tell Someone About Jesus?

Matt. 28:19-20 is the great

commission given to members of

the body of Christ. As Christians,

it is our responsibility to Tell,

Talk and Teach others about

Jesus. Telling someone about

Christ will often open the door to

Talk with them about Him. You

can then Teach them or invite

them to Church where they can be

taught. We encourage each Chris-

tian to take advantage of such

opportunities. If you know of a

prospect, and for some reason

cannot conduct a personal Bible

study, please give their contact

information to Bro. and/or Sis.

Oliver or to one of our Leaders.

Welcome to the Family!!
