Volume 37 Number 30 July 20 , 2014 You’re In Good Hands I Pet. 5:6, “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.” The mighty hand of God is all powerful. It can bring down the proud and haughty as well as exalt the humble. The mighty hand is seen in many marvelous ways throughout the Bible (Gen. 1, Ps. 19:1, Rom. 8:28, Heb. 6:18 -19, (2 Cor. 1:3-4, James 1:21). We still see His hand moving in our lives today. It moves silently and swiftly in various ways. Perhaps, most importantly though, His hand is the hand of salvation. Paul tells us that we while we were sinners God died for us (Rom. 5:8). John tells us to be impressed with the love God had for us (1 Jon. 3:1-3). Peter assures us that God does not want anyone to be lost (2 Pet. 3:9). His hand knocks at the door of every man’s heart desiring to come in but He will not with His hands open that door; man must open the door and let Him in (Rev. 3;20; Rom. 1:17; James 1:21). In this life we must hold on to the unchanging hand of God. He is our creator, our safety, our correction, our direction, our protection, our consolation and comfort. We are in good hands. Believe Him, trust Him, receive Him and obey Him.

You’re In Good Hands

I Pet. 1, Ps. 19:1, Rom. 8:28, Heb. 6:18-19, (2 Cor.

Did You Tell Someone About Jesus? Matt. 28:19-20 is the great commission given to

each member of the body of Christ. It is our

responsibility as Christians to Tell, Talk and Teach

others about Jesus. Telling someone about Him

will often open the door to Talk with them in which

you can then Teach them or invite them to Church

where they will be taught. We encourage each

Christian to take advantage of these opportunities.

We realize many members are not able to conduct a

personal Bible study; therefore, if you know of a

prospect, please give their contact information to

Bro. or Sis. Oliver.

Health Ministry Monthly Activity

“Depression and Mental Health”

African American communities across the United

States are more culturally diverse now than any

other time in history with increasing numbers of

immigrants from African nations, the Caribbean,

Central America and other countries. To ensure

African Americans communities have access to

adequate and affordable care, a better

understanding of the complex role that cultural

backgrounds and diverse experiences play in mental

disorders in these communities is vital. According to

the National Institute of Mental Health, these and

other diverse communities are underserved by the

nation’s mental health care system. For example,

one out of three African Americans who need

mental health care receives it. Compared to the

general population, African Americans are more

likely to stop treatment early and are less likely to

receive follow up care.
