Welcome to our first Bulletin for 2019. This is going to be a busy year for our club.
Registration for the District Conference is open and the early bird bonus has closed. We have 148 people registered so far, so Melda Hammond has reported. To register go to the District Web site and find the District Conference section and follow the steps.
President Elect Peter Gapp is organising his team for next year. Please give him your full support.
A big thank you to all the members and their partners who assisted at the Proclamation Day Breakfast and the Bunnings Marion BBQ. It was a stifling hot day but they were all hard and willing workers.
This year we will be supporting the South Australian School for Visually Impaired (SASVI) and the Errington Special School with our Brighton High Car Boot Sales. Parents, friends and staff from these schools will assist us at the venue.
Meetings will resume this coming Monday, 7th January. Peter Gapp will speak to us on the work done by Rotary Youth Well Being (RYWELL).
On behalf of President Alan, I wish you all a Happy and Healthy 2019.

We held our Christmas Party on Monday 17th December at Club Marion. There was a good turn out of members and their partners as well as several guests. Val Delbridge was Mother Christmas and gave every Rotarian a gift. Marilyn Armstrong led us in carol singing. Thank you to Judy Shipp who organised the evening with the support of Val and Marilyn. Judy was unable to attend the evening but her hard work was appreciated by everyone who attended.

Vocational Service is the second of Rotary’s Avenues of Service.
Vocational Service calls every Rotarian to:
Aspire to high ethical standards in their occupation;
Recognize the worthiness of all useful occupations, and;
Contribute their vocational talents to the problems and needs of society.
Paul Harris wrote: "Each Rotarian is a connecting link between the idealism of Rotary and their trade or profession".
Vocational Service is the way Rotary fosters and supports the application of the Ideal of Service to the pursuit of all vocations.
It is the shared responsibility of both the Rotary Club and its members. The role of the Club is to implement and encourage the objectives by its own actions in dealing with the community and by the development of projects that enable members to use their vocational talents in the service of the community. The role of members is to conduct themselves and their businesses in accordance with Rotary principles, and support the Vocational Service projects that the club has developed.
During January, Rotarians are encouraged to focus on this important avenue of Rotary service.
Meeting Place:
Club Marion, 262 Sturt Road, Marion SA, 5043 1st & 3rd Mondays of the month at 6:00 for 6:30 pm

What we do? Rotary members believe that we have a shared responsibility to take action on our world’s most persistent issues. Our 35,000+ clubs work together to: Promote peace , Fight disease, Provide clean water, sanitation, and hygiene, Save mothers and children, Support education and help to Grow local economies.
