INO BRIBES THE ORACLE TO SAY NEPHELE’S SON NEEDS TO BE SACRIFICED TO STOP THE FAMINE AND MAKE CROPS GROW!
KING INO HAS TWO WIVES . . . Nephele– his first
wife whom he locks up . . .
Ino his second wife who tries to kill Nephele’s son to ensure her son will be king
SO, PHRIXUS, THE SON IS SET TO BE SACRIFICIED!
At the last moment, a giant, golden ram snatches Phrixus off the altar and carries him to safety!
THEY LAND IN COLCHIS . . . . Rules by King Ates. Ates likes Phrixus and gives him one of
his daughters to marry! Phrixus sacrifices the golden ram to
Zeus and gives the carcass to Ates to keep.
There is stays . . . . UNTIL
JASON AND THE ARGONAUTS AND THE QUEST FOR THE GOLDEN FLEECE!
SO, PHRIXUS IS LIVING HAPPILY . . . But, he had an uncle whose kingdom
was taken away by PELIAS . . . Pelias is Phrixus’ cousin . . Jason, the rightful heir to this kingdom,
was taken away to safety and hidden when he was a child so Pelias wouldn’t kill him
(remember the golden fleece is with King Ates, in his kindgom still)
JASON GROWS UP . . . And goes to confront Pelias . . . Pelias agrees to give Jason the kingdom
back without a war if he will go get the golden fleece and return it to Phrixus’ kingdom . .
