2004 Germanium Germanium I 4700 The Hydrothermal Synthesis and Crystal Structure of (H 2 O)[Ge 5 O 10 ] and [(CH 3 ) 4 N][Ge 10 O 20 OH], Two Novel Porous Germanates. — Two novel three-di- mensional porous germanates are synthesized hydrothermally and their structures are determined by single crystal XRD. (II) crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C2/m with Z = 4 and (III) in the tetragonal space group I4/m with Z = 2. The framework of (II) exhibits a new type of three-membered rings, which are built from two octahe- dral GeO 6 and one tetrahedral GeO 4 unit.
