J. Paul Getty once said, “To succeed in a business, toreach the top, an individual must know all that is possibleto know about that business.”

The Leverage BusinessIn this business, you don’t have to “know it all” to reach

the top. In fact, success in our business comes from usingwhat other people know to accomplish your goals. It’scalled “leverage.”

By using leverage, even the smallest efforts can achievegigantic results.

In WFG, the goal is to leverage your time, energy andeffort the very same way. You leverage knowledge — yoursand other people’s — tools (like AdvantEdge magazine),technology, our company, meetings, systems ... In fact, thisis the leverage business. All you need to succeed is to knowthat it works: Like the principle of leverage, you don’t evenhave to know why it works. And you need to have the righttools to make it work for you.

Getty also said, “I would rather earn 1% from 100 peo-ple’s efforts than 100% of my own.” That’s leverage. In theteam building business, the people business, what we lever-age most is people.

We do that by using one of the most powerful principles

in the world. It’s called “Duplication.”One definition of duplication is: to make an exact copy of

the original. Many people assume what’s meant by that isduplicating people. Wrong! In WFG we duplicate the system.

Like learning to read and write, it doesn’t matter who youare — man or woman, rich, poor, whatever — everybodylearns the systems of A-B-Cs, grammar and sentence struc-ture. The last thing anybody wants is a team of people wholook, act, and talk just the same. The power of WFG is that allthese unique and different people — each with his or her ownspecial goals, talents and personalities — come together andlearn to do those same proven actions that guarantee success.

The cardinal law of our business is this: Never - ever! -reinvent the wheel.

Do you know who owns the most successful restaurant inthe world? McDonald’s! $20 billion worth! Do you knowwhy? It’s not their great food. But it’s always consistent. ABig Mac in Cincinnati tastes the same as one in Tokyo. Letme ask you this: Where’s the french fry machine in aMcDonald’s located? Over on the left. There are more than25,000 McDonald’s in the world, and whether you’re inMemphis or Moscow, the french fry machine is always onthe left.

Have you ever noticed how they serve the french fries?The guy or gal getting the fries has a big stainless steelscoop in one hand. The top part’s kind of like a funnel andon the bottom there’s an opening and they fit the cardboardcontainer that holds the fries over it. The server scoops upa bunch of fries and in one motion the extra fries that don’tfit in the bag spill off and gravity makes the just-right con-tainer of fries fall off, plop, right into the rack.

Everything in McDonald’s works the same way: the ham-burgers, french fries and milkshakes. The same Golden

Arches — not green, not silver. Thesame decor, the same color floor. Theyserve you anywhere on the planet inunder a minute and they even get youto clean up after yourself.

What a system! Who’s working thissystem — a bunch of highly trainedexperts? No way — kids! Mostly highschool kids. After you become theproud owner of a McDonald’s, whatdo you do? You go to HamburgerUniversity. That’s where they teachyou how to use the system. It’sincredible!

Duplication — when you know that,you know it all! The key to duplicationis: Don’t duplicate people, duplicatethe system.

There are two extraordinary con-cepts we use in our WFG training pro-grams to have people generate fast-track results:1. Modeling and Mirroring 2. Doubling or Geometric Growth

Modeling and Mirroring

When I started in this business, I hadonly three things going in my favor: aburning desire to make it BIG, the com-mitment to do what it takes to work thebusiness, and third — and most impor-tant of all — I was teachable.

I knew I didn’t know how to do thisbusiness. I knew I could do it, anybodycould, I just didn’t know how. So Iwent out and found someone who didknow how — and I just did what hedid. It’s called modeling. It worksevery time!

Modeling is the pathway to excel-lence. It means that if I see anyone inthis world producing a result I desire,I can produce the same results ... Ifyou want to achieve success, all youneed to do is find a way to modelthose who have already succeeded ...find out what actions they took ... howthey used their brain and body to pro-duce the results you desire to dupli-cate ... Virtually anything any humanbeing does can be modeled ... you canstep in, model the actions that tookthem years to perfect, and producesimilar results in a matter of moments,months ...

By modeling, which simply meansmirroring or copying, the actions ofsuccessful men and women in thisbusiness, you can get the same resultsthey have.

Watch them, learn how they talk,act, their work habits, their attitudes -then do what they do. Don’t just watch

them and then go to bed hoping tomor-row you’ll wake up and do what theydo. Observe, mirror them, and act.

The easiest way is to get a mentor.Every successful person I’ve met inthis business has at least one. Findsome successful WFG leader and latchon to him or her. Go where they go. Dowhat they do. Check it out, and if itworks, duplicate it.

This business has absolutely noth-ing to do with “do it yourself.”Copying the actions of successful peo-ple is working smart. Why should youreinvent what took someone years andyears to learn? Take it and run.Become a mirror.

If you see that the successful peoplein your company dress sharp — dresssharp!

Now, I’m not telling you to imitatetheir personalities — this isn’t “sendin the clones.” But if you see all thesuccessful people wearing blue suitsand white shirts, and you find out thatmen and women in blue suits recruit25% more than people in brown suits,what color suit are you going to wear?

There are ways of acting that areproven to work better than others. Dothem. Watch successful WFG leadersand duplicate what they do — not whothey are — what they do.

Duplicate, duplicate, duplicate!

The Doubling Concept

The word “duplicate” originallymeant “to double,” and this concept ofdoubling is one of the most powerfulforces at work in your WFG business.

If I offered you a quarter of a milliondollars, right now — or I offered you apenny doubled every day for a month— which would you choose?

The quarter million? Don’t do it;take the penny.

A penny doubled every day for amonth doesn’t sound like much. Afterfive days, you’d have all of 16 cents.After 15 days, you have a whopping$163.84. Beginning to think you madea stupid choice? Wait, there’s more,and it’s about to get really interesting.The power of doubling is awesome —but most of the time it’s going on,you’ll never know it’s happening.

On day 19, you’d have $2,621. Sixdays later, day 25, just five days beforethe end of the month, you’d have over$167,000. Next day, $335,000. Next,more than $671,000. Next, the 28thday, you’d have over $1,340,000. Andon the 30th day, you’d have a grand

total of $5,368,709! All from one pennywhich simply doubled every day.

In the beginning, doubling doesn’tlook like much. After 20 days, yourpenny is only a couple of thousand dol-lars. But it’s five million by month’s end.

That’s the doubling concept. That’sthe power of duplication. Don’t befooled just because you can’t see it yet.More people quit this business meremonths before their ship comes in‘cause they just don’t see it. The powerof doubling is awesome — but most ofthe time it’s going on, you’ll neverknow it’s happening. Then, like magic,you explode!

It’s not magic, though. It’s science -and what’s more, it works, it’s proven,and it can work for you. The doublingconcept is how big team builders keepall the qualities of “small is beautiful”but do a big, big job. The power ofduplication is the doubling concept.Your business grows geometrically.

McDonald’s didn’t start with allthose restaurants. I didn’t start with400 MD’s, either. We all started withjust one!
