The Confession of Sin

Father in Heaven, we come before You as a family of believers willfully acknowledging our sins before You. This time in our worship is never easy,

but we know it is right and good for our souls to confess sins openly before You and hear Your healing words of pardon. So, Father we confess that our hearts are distracted this morning and not entirely focused on You and Your glory. We confess that our hearts have wandered from You this week and found satisfaction in the temporal things of this world. We confess that our pride has again led us to the realm of self-reliance and self-dependence. We confess our uncompassionate hearts have caused us to not love our neighbor as ourselves. For all these sins and many more, we ask for Your forgiveness. Heal us, Lord Jesus, by Your grace, and transform us to be a people humble in heart and contrite in spirit. Amen.
