1033. Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him)reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said:"Were people to know the blessing of pronouncing

Special honor: Long necks

1034. Mu`awiyah (May Allah be pleased with him)reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (PBUH)saying: "The Mu'adhdhinun (callers to prayer)

will have the longest necks on the Day ofResurrection.''[Muslim].

Interpretation: Those who call Adhan will havean honorable and great status on the Day ofRequital.

1035. Àbdullah bin Àbdur-Rahman reported:Abu Saìd Al-Khudri (May Allah be pleasedwith him) said to me: you should raise

your voice because whoever hears the Adhan,whether a human or jinn or any othercreature, will testify for you on the Day ofResurrection.'' Abu Saìd added: "I heardthis from the Messenger of Allah (PBUH).''[Al-Bukhari].

Shaitaan runs away!

Jabir (R) reported that he heard the Prophetpbuh saying; Indeed when Shaitaan hears thecall for prayer, he goes away till Rawhaa

(Muslim)The Prophet pbuh took the name of Rawhaa(approx 60 Kms from Madinah) to show theeffect of Adhan.

Believers get drawn towards Masjid hearingAzaan while only Shaitaan (or his likes) runaway from it!

Takbeer: The most often repeated phrase in our lives

(esp. in Azan, Iqamah, and Salah)

Like the striking of clock every hour,reminding him of the duties towards Allah. Repeated almost 200 times by every Muslim

sleep, then is sleep greater or Allah?

During the day: Is our work, meeting,chatting, eating, shopping, going or comingto some place, greater (and thereforedeserves our attention) or Allah? Evenworse, watching TV or just having fun withHaraam greater than Allah?

Do we really mean ? Imagine a scenario. My boss (at the job) tells me

to prepare a report. I do not do it or do it badlyand when I see him, I say, Boss! You are great!

Another scenario: He asks me to come to job at7.30 AM. I go there by 9 AM and say, Boss! Youare great!

Do we really mean ? The biggest obstacle that a person has in

following the right path is his ego. Healways thinks he is right. He is remindedagain and again that he has to crush his egoin front of Allah. He is nothingAllah isthe Greatest. Therefore, just build up the

We are asked to repeat the words of Muazzin.This is to interact and respond to the call and actaccordingly.

During Salah, we say it 6 times every Rakah.People get into worldly thoughts, programs,worries and they are reminded again that Allah isgreater than everything else. So they dontdeserve attention. Pay attention to Him alone andcome back to Salah.

O Sinner! You are afraid if people look at

you or you dont want to disrespect them.What about Allah who is looking at youalways?

Have you made Allah as the onlooker to belast and the least to be respected or afraidfrom or worried about!?

catch you) when you make plans. O Arrogant! When you reject Truth or look down

upon people, do you know that Allahu Akbar! O Oppressor! Allahu Akbar! He destroyedFiroun and so many others.

Boss of someone! Remember AllahuAkbar! And lastly, O poor, humble, and helpless person!

1037. Àbdullah bin Àmr bin Al-Às (May Allah bepleased with them) reported: I heard the Messengerof Allah (PBUH) saying, "When you hear the Adhan,repeat what the Mu'adhdhin says. Then ask Allah toexalt my mention because everyone who does so willreceive in return ten rewards from Allah. Thenbeseech Allah to grant me Al-Wasilah, which is a highrank in Jannah, fitting for only one of Allah's slaves;

and I hope that I will be that man. If any one asks Al-Wasilah for me, it becomes incumbent upon me tointercede for him.''[Muslim]

1039. Jabir (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "He who saysupon hearing the Adhan: Àllahumma Rabbahadhihid-da`wati-ttammati, was-salatil-qa'imati, ati

Muhammadanil-wasilata wal-fadhilata, wabàthumaqaman mahmuda nilladhi wa àdtahu [O Allah,Rubb of this perfect call (Da`wah) and of theestablished prayer (As-Salat), grant Muhammad theWasilah and superiority, and raise him up to a

praiseworthy position which You have promisedhim]', it becomes incumbent upon me to intercede forhim on the Day of Resurrection.''[Al-Bukhari].

with Allah as my Rubb, with Muhammad as myMessenger and with Islam as my Deen],' his sins willbe forgiven.''[Muslim].
