We also encourage you to join in with the Daily Mile in the mornings, even if it is not your child’s class that is taking part. Time is flying and Year Six in readiness for secondary school, will need to work hard and make good progress. Help all your children complete their homework, read every day and practise their times tables and spelling. We hope that, with your support, we can make Netley even better than it already is. WILLOW CLASS ASH CLASS Ahoy! This week Young Pirates in Ash class

have been busy finding treasures and making sure they can count

them all correctly .

YEAR 1

This week Year 1 went on a local area walk to look for human features. We spotted flats, houses, shops, bus stops and much more! Then the children had a go at drawing their own

map of the area.

YEAR 2

Year 2 had a fan-tastic afternoon

in Regent's Park.

We used observation skills

to identify and

classify some common British

trees.

YEAR 3

Year 3 have been researching about Mary Seacole. We have

created fact books.

Here is a great website to

watch at home:

www.bbc.co.uk/

newsround/36671351

Ask us to tell you some

amazing facts!

YEAR 4

Year 4 watched an

amazing show on Ada

Lovelace – the famous

computer programmer

they have been learning

about over the last few

weeks. They got to see an

incredible LED light up

dress and acted as a

working Analytical En-

gine!

YEAR 5

This week Year 5’s P4C question was “Do animals have to be

treated in the same

way as humans?”. We had some

fantastic discus-

sions and each child had the right to be

heard and give their

own opinion.

YEAR 6

In Willow Class we have been using our class book "T-Veg: the story of a carrot-crunching dinosaur" to help us with our Maths. First we followed a sensory sto-ry, tasting and describing lots of different fruit and vegetables, then learnt how to count in 2's, all the

way to 20.

In English, Year 6 have started looking at poetry this week. In maths, we are working hard on our calculation skills. 6KW really enjoyed sharing our learning with the school in our sharing assembly.
