Decatur Health Systems em- ployees and their families met for a midsummer picnic in the City Park on July 14. Rick and Lynn Doeden grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and everyone brought side dishes. Adults and children alike enjoyed eating, visiting and playing games, and the group was given an oppor- tunity to end the day with a cool dip in the swimming pool. A celebratory “Care For Your Heart” weight loss meeting was held on Monday, July 12, in the Specialty Clinic, featuring cold watermelon treats. In the two 12-week ses- sions, employees who participated lost a total of 672 pounds. Of that, 247 pounds came off in the second session. A third session is planned, to help sustain the weight loss through carefully monitored diets and increased physical exercise.
