Join us for the 60th annual Estab-lished Edition, “Yesterday and Today 2021,” featuring historic photos taken in our local communities and 400 adver-tisements for local businesses, arranged in order of the year those businesses were established.
Celebrating anniversaries this year are: 250 years, Cheshire County Depart-ment of Corrections; 100 years, Syd’s Carpet and Snooze Room; 75 years: Cheshire County Conservation District and Eaton Furniture; 50 years: Bob’s Garage, Keene Chrysler Jeep Dodge, Harrisville Designs, Monadnock Work-source, and Smith’s Medical.
Thank you to Alan Rumrill and The Historical Society of Cheshire County for their continued assistance with this publication. This year, too, we thank the historical societies of 25 local towns for sharing a bit of their past with us.

Cleaning an oven takes a lot of time and energy, and no one likes to tackle a dirty oven that is full of grease, residue, and burnt carbon. And self-cleaning settings on ovens won’t remove baked-
on carbon and hidden grime in the corners and crevices.
So customers are in good hands with the professional oven cleaning services like those that Durling Clean-ing offers.
Customers are in good hands with the profess ional oven cleaning services they will receive from Derek Drouin (L) and Matt Durling of Durling Cleaning.
Sparkling clean ovens without any leftover carbon or smell is the end result when hiring Durling C l e a n i n g . D e r e k Drouin is pictured (right) after he finished cleaning a customer’s oven.

Wintervention Challenge Free, Open To CommunityNo Membership Required For This Keene Family YMCA Wellness Challenge
NH Conservation Districts Celebrate 75th Anniversary With Awards, Podcasts, And More10 Districts. 75 Years. Countless Conservation Successes
The Keene Family YMCA is offering a chance to make 2021 a year to focus on yourself. People can now join the Y for Wintervention, a five-week program. There is no cost, and no membership is required.
“It’s simple and starts with just 20 minutes of movement, five days a week,” Kelly Fleuette, the Y’s senior program director, said. “We’re challenging our community members to move – by themselves, with a buddy, or with their entire family. We will come together with a common purpose, get moving in the winter together. We’re inviting everyone to put their health first and join us.”
Understandably, the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted a lot of people’s ability to stay consistent, and that is why the YMCA is motivating members of our community to bring those healthy habits back, Fleuette said.
Each week, for members and non-members, the YMCA will share free coaching, activity ideas, and
help hold people accountable to stay on track. The Y’s wellness team will inspire new ideas and help find options for everyone to fulfill weekly challenges. Participants in the Monadnock Region can learn more by visiting the Y website and clicking on events or calling the Welcome Desk at 603-352-6002.
Participants will have access to weekly tracking sheet and a Facebook group to connect with other program participants.
“Our challenge helps people focus not only on their healthy lifestyle or their exercise or wellness, but also their social connectivity, connectivity with their family, connectivity with their community,” Fleuette said.
The challenge, she added, is designed to help people get their energy back between the mind, body, and spirit in what has been such a trying period.
Wintervention runs now through Saturday, March 6th.
New Hampshire Conservation Districts are celebrating their 75th year of conservation in 2021. Conservation Districts were established in New Hampshire in 1946, except for the Cheshire County Conservation District, established in 1945.
To celebrate, all 10 districts in partnership with the NH Association of Conservation Districts, will spend 2021 looking back on conservation successes. The NH Conservation Districts have planned a number of activities for Granite Staters to join in on.
Flashback Fridays: Every Friday in 2021, Conserva-tion Districts will participate in a coordinated sharing of historic conservation photos, stories, and lessons of the past 75 years. Follow district Facebook pages and e-newsletters to not miss the fun. Visit www.nhacd.net/nh-s-county-conservation-districts-1 for a full listing of NH Conservation District websites.
Legacy Awards: Every Conservation District in NH will present an organization, farm, family,
