Big Idea• Life consists of more than earthly abundance.

A Warning to Be Heeded

“Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness” (15a)


Covetousness (pleonexia)• Insatiableness, avarice.•At its root is the lust for more than one’s

fair share.

Of how much more value are you than the birds! And …’”

Winning Over Worry•Realize that God knows our needs.

• Try to look at things from heaven’s point of view.

•Put God’s kingdom first in everything.

•Ask, “Where is your heart?”

The Parable of Modern Man“Fool! This night your soul is required

of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be? So is the
