VOLUME XXI, NUMBER II, OCTOBER 2016 Fall has officially begun. Soon we will be enjoying cooler weather and Halloween festivities. October also brings with it the Mississippi State Fair. I know everyone enjoys running into people they know while taking in lunch at the fair. It is always fun to run into friendly faces I have known or worked with over the years. And of course the fair food is always a welcome fall treat! As you may know, the Jackson Chapter of AGA participates in several community service events throughout the year. Kim McCrory, our Community Service Chair, will be collecting monetary donations for Stewpot Community Services during the October and November monthly meetings. These tax‐deductible charitable contributions will go towards feeding the hungry during the holidays. Please remember to bring cash or a check if you would like to participate. I would like to thank Dr. Billy Morehead for completing the 2015‐ 2016 Citizen‐Centric Report (CCR) for the Jackson Chapter. It has been posted to the chapter’s website for your review under the “Chapter Documents” tab. The 2015‐2016 CCR is an informative summary report of the Jackson Chapter’s activities for the recent year. Don’t forget to mention AGA to your coworkers, family, and friends. Invite those you may think would benefit from becoming a member or simply attending a meeting. The Continuing Professional Education credits that we offer for monthly meetings are beneficial to those in a variety of fields, not only accountants. If you plan on attending, please make your reservation by Tuesday, October 11, 2016. Our reservations help the Capitol Club prepare enough space for our monthly meetings. You can make a reservation by contacting Koteshya Guidry via phone or email. Her contact information is listed on the side bar. I look forward to seeing everyone next Wednesday, October 12, 2016.
