What did Pharaoh tell the midwives to do with Israelite newborns? Did they obey? Read Exodus 1:15-17.

To fear the Lord means to have the highest respect for God and to obey His laws. What does God promise to those who fear Him? Read Psalm 111:10.

Why did Moses’ parents hide him when he was born? Read Hebrews 11:23.

What did Moses’ mother do when he was too big to hide? Read Exodus 2:3.

The basket she made was called an ark. Do you remember another ark in the Bible? Who did it save? Read Genesis 7:7.

Long before Moses was born, the Israelites moved to Egypt during a famine. Their relative Joseph was Pharaoh’s special helper, so he provided them with food. What happened after Joseph died? Read Exodus 1:6-7.

Why did the Egyptians become afraid of the Israelites? Read Exodus 1:8-10.

How did the Egyptians treat them? Read Exodus 1:11-14.

Is it okay to tell God that we feel scared and alone? Read what David prayed when an evil king was trying to kill him. Read Psalm 142.

Does God answer our prayers? Read Psalm 3:4.

Moses’ mother sealed the basket with pitch to make it waterproof and keep her baby safe. Did you know that we are sealed when we trust in Jesus? Read Ephesians 1:13-14.

Pharaoh wanted to kill all the baby boys of the Israelites! If you were Moses’ sister, would you want to meet Pharaoh’s daughter? What did Miriam tell her? Read Exodus 2:4-9.

When Moses grew up, God promised to tell him what to say. Do you think God helped Miriam know what to say? Read Exodus 4:12.

When we face hard situations in our lives, will God help us know what to do and say? Read Luke 12:11-12.

PRAY Father, thank You that we can always tell You exactly how we feel—and that You will give us guidance, help and strength! We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

PRAY Lord, when we face hard choices in life, please give us Your wisdom, Your courage, and Your power to do the right thing. Amen.

PRAY Dear Jesus, thank You for dying to save us, for rising to give us new life, and for sealing us with Your Holy Spirit so we are Yours forever! Amen.
