Once you bring conscious awareness to what choices you are making you can choose again.

This seminar will give you insights, tools and healing experiences to transform your life. The Power of Choice offers you an opportunity to have the world you desire and to create lasting change.

Chuck Spezzano is a world-renowned seminar leader, author, lecturer and highly intuitive visionary leader. Launch of Video and Storybook Created by Secwepemc Elders

On Monday May 27h, 2013 from 6pm to 8pm Ch ief Atahm Schoo l wi ll launch a new storybook and vi deo

created by Secwepemc Elders . The community is invited to see for themselves these new teaching tools

created for Secwepemc schools.

The video features interviews with Elders sha ring their thoughts on ag ing and high lights the importance

of traditional activit ies and practices. The storybook seeks to show chi ldren how to deve lop positive

relationships with Elders experiencing memory loss.

Elders participating in the Culturally Safe Dementia Care (CSDC) research project told the resea rchers

from Thompson Rivers University and Interior Health that they would li ke to create a video and

storybook that they could sha re with children and youth to teach them about what it is like to grow old

and experience memory loss. It is hoped that these teaching tools can help to strengthen relationships

between Elders and youths.

When asked to com ment on the project Jean William, an Elder advisor, said that, "This is a meaningful

project and I wa s glad that I was part of it!"

The researchers facilitated this project by hiring two young First Nations artists, Karle ne Harvey and

Trevor Mack, to create the video and storybook with Secwepemc Elders.

"Hearing the stories from Secwepemc Elders provided me with such a rich understanding of the people

from this Nation, their territory and what it means to take care of Elders as a commun ity. The storybook

evolved from the meaningfu l conversations that both Trevor and I had with the Elders interviewed and

we are so thankful for the opportunity to learn from them what it means to be Secwepemc."

-Karlene Harvey, Illustrator
